Wednesday, November 5, 2014

Hello there fellow crafters!!! It's a new month which means a new kit and new kit challenge over at Frosted Designs!!! This kit is absolutely beautiful... Seriously, I LOVE it more and more each time I look at it!!!

Here's a look at Rustic Beauty:

This kit features the FabScraps "Industrial Chic" collection, as well as goodies from Prima, Maya Road, Ranger and more!!!

As usual, you also have a chance to win a fabulous prize by submitting your projects created using ANY past or present FD kits!!!!  This month's prize is a $30.00 prize package from Scrapmatts!!!!

I am also up on the CE blog today so there are all sorts of Creative Embellishment goodies on my page!!!
Here's a look:

This is my youngest daughter when she was only six months old (she's four now!). I LOVE how the blue in her eyes stands out in the photo, so I decided to add pops of blue in my page as well!!

I started my background work using various gelatos for contrasting colors, gesso to tone it down, then stencils with molding paste and india ink.

I created a large flowers cluster down the page using various flowers from the kit and some from my stash, tucking in odds and ends from the kit as well for detail!

Well gang...  Thanks so much for stopping in!  Have a LUCKY day :-)

"My Love" using Rustic Beauty with Michelle!!!

Tuesday, November 4, 2014

Good morning everyone! Today I'm sharing a layout that I created using this month's "Rustic Beauty" kit.

The beautiful FabScraps papers in this kit are so fun to work with. I decided to pull out the purple tones in the paper. On the background I started by adding a bit more purple using plastic wrap and some Tattered Angels' Concord. Then I did a bit of random stamping using the Prima stamp from the kit. And I added more texture using the Crafters Workshop stencil with texture paste. Here are some closeups of the details.

Thanks so much for dropping by! Hope you have an amazing day!

The Deconstructed Layout with Anita - Box Flowers

Tuesday, April 8, 2014

Hi everyone, how is your week going so far!
It's Anita here today and I have a project from my recent vacation to share with you!

Today's project is part of my new series the Deconstructed Layout
for today's tutorial we will be making a Box Flower- they
are so simple and so fun!

Here is a look at my layout,,
I used bits an pieces from several of my previous Frosted Designs Kits
for this layout. I am trying to work my way through my stash!

My papers are FabScraps and for my background I stamped
a large graphic design all over and gave everything a good spray
with Dylusions White Linen.

Start with die cut scallop circles- I have three sizes here - you can make your flower with one, two or three layers- totally up to you!. For each layer you will need 4 circles all the same size.

  1. Start by inking the edges, then spraying BOTH sides with water or (my choice) one of the iridescent sprays like Glimmer Mist.
  2. Lightly crumple the circles up into a ball
  3. Open back up and fold in half.

Ok- let's assemble our flower!

  1. Lay 1 piece down facing to the left.
  2. Add your second piece so that it is half on top of the 1st piece, facing towards you.
  3. Add the 3rd piece so that it is half on top of the 2nd piece, facing right.
  4. Add the last piece so that it is half on top of the 3rd piece and half UNDER the 1st piece.
  5. Use a little piece of liquid glue under each flap to secure it to the piece below it.
  6. Repeat with a set of smaller circles if you want to add a second layer.
  7. Use a brad in the center to secure everything together.
Here is a look at the box flower- fun, yes??
(I used the largest and smallest circles that I cut)
I have also used some KaiserCraft flowers and
Basic Grey die cut stickers.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!
Have a wonderful week!

And don't forget to take advantage of this week's sale!

Coming Later Today….. February Kit Reveal!!!! Be sure to stop back!!

Hi! Cathi here with another layout, featuring Fabscraps paper and Lindy's Stamp Gang found here in the store in Frosted Designs!! I really felt the need for some summer warmth so I wanted to do a layout to remind me of the warm summer days we will have this summer when we visit my parents in the States (it never gets "hot" in Ireland!)

I used lots of Lindy's Golden Dubloons Moonshadow Mists on the background. I inked the chipboard with
then covered parts in gesso and embossed with Orbit Olive Gold Embossing Powder, I love the texture it gets when you have the gesso bubbling up under the embossing!

I found that cool silver earring that looks like a sand dollar at a local charity shop and put the pair to use in my layout. I was lucky enough to go to CHA in Los Angeles this month and I snagged a bag of seashells, my daughters were tired of me stealing their shells for my cards and layouts!

I love the soft colors the Fabscraps papers bring to the layout, perfect for a sun washed beachy themed layout!!

I really love this layout it is going up in my scraproom to remind me of summer on these cold dreary days!!

Channa Gets Inky!

Tuesday, January 14, 2014

Good morning all,

Hello all, it's Channa here to share some Frosted designs inspiration today!

I made a layout using 3 similiar colors of dylusions ink, all between pink and purple.
Dylusions ink used:
Funky Fuchsia
Crushed grape
After midnight

I sprayed each ink on the stencil very close to eachother so it looks like a rainbow effect.  Besided just spraying the ink in three others ways.
1. the rain drop effect: letting it drip  to the sides
2. splashing it on the page.
3. using the lid of the dylusion bottle to create the little circles.

In the close ups you can see all the different effects.

The little lady in the pictures is Larissa, we bought here this jacket for christmas and as you can see
she was very excited to wear it the next day.

These are the products that i used from the Frosted designs store:
