Michelle shares Traditions!

Thursday, December 11, 2014

Hello there everyone! Michelle here with you today, and I'd love to share a layout that I created with the beautiful "Traditions" kit. This kit features Simple Stories Cozy Christmas papers and plenty of gorgeous embellishments- perfect for all your holiday projects. I couldn't wait to dive in. Here is the first page I created.

I started by giving the paper a decorative edge with a border punch. Then using the stamp from the kit I randomly stamped around where my design was going, and then I added some splatters of the Heirloom Gold mist. I distressed the layers and cut out a couple of the post cards from one of the papers, which I distressed then tucked under the photos. Then I created a tag to tuck under the other side. Next I added a couple flower clusters around the photos. I colored the holly flourishes with the Heirloom Gold mist and added ruby stickles for the berries. I cut one of the metal elements from the kit in half and added them to the clusters. Then as a finishing touch I added a few more splatters using Smooch in Siren and in Green Apple.

Be sure to grab your "Traditions" kit from the Frosted Designs Store before they are gone.

Thanks for coming by! Hope you have a creative day!

"My Love" using Rustic Beauty with Michelle!!!

Tuesday, November 4, 2014

Good morning everyone! Today I'm sharing a layout that I created using this month's "Rustic Beauty" kit.

The beautiful FabScraps papers in this kit are so fun to work with. I decided to pull out the purple tones in the paper. On the background I started by adding a bit more purple using plastic wrap and some Tattered Angels' Concord. Then I did a bit of random stamping using the Prima stamp from the kit. And I added more texture using the Crafters Workshop stencil with texture paste. Here are some closeups of the details.

A Stunning "Garden of Abundance" Layout with Michelle!

Thursday, October 16, 2014

Hi everyone! Today I have a layout I created using the beautiful "Garden of Abundance" kit from the Frosted Designs store. This kit is such a pleasure to create with. The projects just come together so easily, with beautiful results. Here is my latest creation.

I started by randomly stamping the background with the Kaiser Craft script stamp from the kit. I love stamping on my backgrounds. It's such an easy way to add interest to your project. Next I added some stenciling with modeling paste, adding some pearls here and there to dress up the design a bit. Then I lightly distressed the edges and pleated the upper left corner. The "Creation" paper in the kit was perfect for cutting and creating plenty of layers for under the photo and tucking pieces under the corner pleating. I created a tag to tuck in the upper corner with one of the pieces, adding some of the trim from the kit and one of the metal bird charms. Here's a few close-ups of the details.
Thanks so much for coming by and letting me share with you today! Have a creative day!

Amazing Things With Michelle!!!!!!

Thursday, September 11, 2014

Hi everyone! Today I have my first project using the September kit from the Frosted Designs Store. I have to say this kit is amazing! I created this quick page with a bit of mixed media background.

I started by distressing and randomly punching the edges with a border punch. I gave my background a light coat of gesso around the are I was placing my photo. Once that dried I inked the background using the Mix'd Media ink from the kit to add some color to the background. Then using the Tim Holtz stencil from the kit I added some more texture and interest. I love this stencil! It's my new fave =) I fussy cut some of the flowers from the Large Floral paper to tuck in my layers. The flowers just screamed to be cut out. I went along the edges with the brush pen from the kit to help give them definition.

Have you ordered your kit yet? You will love it! Hope you have a creative day!

Summer's End Altered Picture Frame with Michelle!

Thursday, August 21, 2014

Good morning all! Michelle here with you and today I have another project that I created using this month's beautiful "Summer's End" kit to share with you. This time I've decided to alter an 11 1/2 by 11 1/2 photo frame with goodies from the kit.

I started with a large chipboard photo frame that I picked up for next to nothing at a local craft store. I primed the frame with a layer a gesso. Once the gesso dried I sprayed it with the Tattered Angels' "Cornflower" blue chalkboard spray from the kit and allowed it to dry. To give the frame some texture I used the Tim Holtz "woodgrain" stencil from the kit and some modeling paste, including the edges. Before the modeling paste dried I sprayed the frame with the Cornflower chalkboard spray again, giving it a good coating. Then I also sprayed some Tattered Angels' "Frost" so the blues mingled and I got a two tone effect.
I embellished the frame with the kraft doilies, ribbon, and some of the wood veneers from the kit. I also used a few flowers and gems from my stash.
I placed one of the adorable resin fairies from the kit in the lower corner.
Thanks so much for dropping by! Hope you have a creative day!

Summer's End Scrapbook Layout with Michelle!

Tuesday, August 12, 2014

Hey there everyone! Michelle here with you and today I have my first project using the August kit "Summer's End" from the Frosted Design's Store. I have to say I love this gorgeous kit, it was perfect for showcasing this photo of my daughter.

To add a bit more texture and interest on the background I added some of the tattered mica fragments that comes in the "messy" kit. I simply swiped liquid glue with my finger in random areas and then sprinkled the mica fragments over it.

The beautiful Prima resin feathers from the kit were a perfect additional element tucked in the flower cluster.

Thanks for coming by! Hope you have a wonderful day!
