Good Day Scrappers. It's Connie and my turn on the blog.  I am still enjoying the beautiful Autumn Weather.  We have snow in the forecast but the fluffy white stuff has not hit the ground....Yet.  I have a page created using the November kit and some 7 dots Nature Walk.

Pick of the Patch with Lori!

I just love fall - it is my favorite time of the year!  We went to the Pumpkin Patch last week and my friend captured this picture of Tanner picking his pumpkin.  I wanted to showcase this photo all by itself so I grabbed papers from the Garden of Abundance kit. 

I realy like the colors in the flowered paper - they look similar to the brown and green in the pumpkin patch.
I needed a pinch of orange so I grabbed an orange gelato and colored around my photo mat and title mat.  I spritzed my paper towel with water and blended the orange around the edge of the paper.
I used my Silhouette Cameo to design and cut the tree, pumpkin border and title.  I just love that tree! 
I inked the pumpkins a bit with some moss green ink and then spritzed them with Heidi Swapp gold color shine. 
Look at that gold on these pumpkins - just gorgeous!!  I cut some of the pumpkins off the border and pop-dotted them on the page.
I added the wood heart to the tree trunk and a bird in the branches.

Tutorial Tuesday with Brandi: Making a Mixed Media Card from Start to Finish!

Hello fellow crafters!!!  I'm up on the Frosted Design's Blog today with a tutorial for a mixed media card!  Let's take a look, shall we?!?

I used this month's Garden of Abundance Kit which was designed by yours truly!  Here's my finished card (I used the current sketch #109 over at Cardabilities by the ever-so-talented Karen Gerber!):


Now, here's a look at how I made this cad in just a few simple steps!
 First, grab the papers you want to use and measure them to size (4.75x6.75 here to mount on 5x7 card base).  Add some texture using your favorite stencil and molding paste or something similar.  Ink the edges with the lighter ink in the kit, making sure to come in some on the actual card.  Finish the edges with black ink.  


Ink the edges of your outer piece, then use a distress tool around all the edges!  Grab some chipboard (flourish 18 used here from the Creative Embellishments Store) and color it with your favorite mediums! Layer it all on your card base and embellish as desired :-)

A Stunning "Garden of Abundance" Layout with Michelle!

Hi everyone! Today I have a layout I created using the beautiful "Garden of Abundance" kit from the Frosted Designs store. This kit is such a pleasure to create with. The projects just come together so easily, with beautiful results. Here is my latest creation.

I started by randomly stamping the background with the Kaiser Craft script stamp from the kit. I love stamping on my backgrounds. It's such an easy way to add interest to your project. Next I added some stenciling with modeling paste, adding some pearls here and there to dress up the design a bit. Then I lightly distressed the edges and pleated the upper left corner. The "Creation" paper in the kit was perfect for cutting and creating plenty of layers for under the photo and tucking pieces under the corner pleating. I created a tag to tuck in the upper corner with one of the pieces, adding some of the trim from the kit and one of the metal bird charms. Here's a few close-ups of the details.

Garden of Abundance Altered Fan with Rachelle!

Hi there FD friends! Rachelle here today on the blog sharing my project I created using this gorgeous October kit~"Garden of Abundance." There is so much you can create using this kit. Take a look.

 Altered Fan


This is how this all started. I created the fan and applied lace and pearls. Then I started at the bottom worked up to the center and sides. I wanted a shabby chic, vintage style. Next I applied prima ink to the folds.


The best way to create the folds is to use a score board. They come out perfectly. I applied the beautiful Prima flowers, minature rose buds and the pretty lace flowers from an earlier kit.

Next comes the layers and layers of beautiful cardstock.
I so love working with the beautiful Prima products. I applied the butterflies and metal bird.


Next, more  beautiful embellishments.

Nearly done! It's time to finish the bottom of the fan with ribbon, lace, pearls and a doily.

Garden of Abundance Layout and New Kit Challenge!!!!

Hey there crafters!!!  Happy October!!!!  We are here again with another fabulous kit (designed by yours truly!) and a layout to showcase all the wonderfull-ness included this month!

Here's a look at the kit:

The colors in the kit were perfect for a photo of me and my sister at my wedding a few years back.  Here's a look:

The blue in her dress just makes the photo pop!
Here are some close-ups using other goodies from the kit:

 
 (I used the background stamp to add some detail to my page and the ink included to color my wooden and chipboard pieces!  LOVING those butterflies as well!)


  
 -I also used tons of goodies from past kits (like the blue Prima wire, burlap flower, metal findings, and Lindy's yellow embossing powder for the bird cage!).


 I finished the page with one of the beautiful Prima burlap flowers included and some other "found" objects!
