Life Documented with Connie!

Thursday, August 28, 2014

Hi everyone. It's me Connie and I am hosting the blog today.  I created a page with a picture of my Daughter and her Boyfriend in their Prom attire.  I had ordered about 200 photo's online and they did not arrive.  I was getting ready to print a couple at home and place another order at the store when this box arrived. A gentleman had my photo's in with his order and when he looked at them he knew they would be missed and he mailed them to me.  I am very grateful and lucky.

Here is the page
I mixed the Summer's end and the Enchanted kits.

Here is a close up
I made rolled roses with the pattern papers

I added a sticker for the title

I cut the doily in the kit in half and added flowers from the End of Summer kit.

Beautiful Life Notebook with Mindy!

Thursday, July 31, 2014

Hi there everyone. It's Mindy here.
I have a notebook I made using most of the products in this months Kit.
I just adore this kit. The colors are gorgeous. I just love the new Tim Holtz stencil. I used some 3d molding paste on my journal with the stencil. I have distressed the edges of paper with my scissors and then I distressed them with the Tim Holtz Crackle Paint.

I used some of the rub ons from the kit as well. Here's the sentiments along the bottom of the notebook.

I also added some faux stitching along the top corner. I took the Maya Road Scalloped Frame and painted it with white acrylic paint. Then I added the rub on in the center.

Only two more days….

______________________________________________________________________________

Hello everyone!! I hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend & are looking forward to summer! I know I am!!! I'm here today to share a fun layout I did using lots of goodies you can find in the Frosted Designs store! If you know me at all, you know I like to mix and match collections, and that is what I did today!!
I used pieces from Basic Grey, Carte Bella, and Bo Bunny to come up with this  layout! Here are some pictures:

Here are a few close ups:

I used the creme brûlée dauber from my Lindy's stamp gang try me set to pearlize my background for the 'night sky' .

For the title & other elements on my page I used stickers from the Bo Bunny Zip-a- Dee-doodle combo sticker sheet. I also anchored some of the elements to my page with some Trendy Tape in black chevron & the steampunk gold one. I love how they look together!

I colored the Um Wow layered clouds with a combo of Faber Castel Gelatp in gold & some more creme brûlée. The tiny stars are wood veneer by Studio Calico, also colored with gelato & a wet brush. I love how it turned out against the pink!

I hope you have enjoyed this whimsical layout. Here is the list of products I used that can be found in the Frosted Designs store. Happy shopping!!

If You're Happy and You Know It - Scrap It!

Tuesday, April 15, 2014

Hi, everyone!  Brenda here with my turn to post a project on the Frosted Designs blog.  There are so many cool things in the store right now that I had a hard time deciding what to use!  I started with the Jillibean Soup mini placemat, since that could double as my title and an embellishment.  Then I added some papers, stickers, twine, and a little bling and ended up with this page of my almost-always-happy grandson!

I started by adhering the mini placemat to yellow patterned paper. I added some pen stitching around the edges, then colored in the words "HAPPY" and "YOU" with a yellow glitter marker, to add a little sparkle and emphasis.  After adhering the chipboard stars, I added a little bit of Mercury Glass Stickles to them for more sparkle.  Here's a closeup:

It's always nice when different manufacturers and collections work well together.  The colors in the navy polka dot paper served as my base, so I pulled from those colors for my papers and stickers, and keeping them against a white cardstock base kept a clean and bright feel to the page.  Check out the Frosted Designs store for these products and so many other new items!

Hi there ladies, I really hope everyone in the Northern hemisphere is having an awesome spring and are excited for the summer!  Here in South Africa, we have really been having some crappy weather with LOTS of rain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But enough about the weather, today I am here to share another two single Project Life inspired pages with you!  The pictures were take on the same day, but some were taken in the morning and the rest were taken in the afternoon, after Jonathan was bathed and changed.

Here is the first page, the right hand side.

These pictures were taken in the afternoon and early evening, after we bathed Jonathan and changed him into this blue and white outfit.

I included a Project Life card here which I embellished with a felt heart cut from my Cuttlebug, some staples, buttons and bling.

The journalling on this card reads:
"Thursday - our last day in hospital.  After your bath that morning, mommy dressed you in the blue & white babygrow.  Even though it was "newborn" size it still seemed too big for you.  these were some of the first pictures mommy took of you being awake."

I used bits and pieces of the Vintage collection from Simple Stories to finish the page off with.
And now on to the second page!!!!!!!!!

This one is so far my favourite and I had tons of fun with this page!!!!!!!!!!

So, dear Mr Tim Holtz (huge fan over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) was in South Africa during March and I was lucky enough to be able to attend his class.......  One of the awesome things he bought us and that we worked with was his brand new 1" distressing ink pads, and oh my word, they are stunning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  So what did I do when I got home, you guessed it, used the mini distressing ink pads!!!!!!!!!!!

I covered cardstock with old book paper, and did some stencil work with Tim Holtz distress ink on it.   Once this was done, I included some chipboard elements, a rub-on and some die-cuts I had lying around.

For this card, I cut a piece from the Echo Park Fall collections, added some die-cuts and stitching.

So that concludes my Project Life pages for this week!  I hope you enjoyed them!  But wait, I am not done...........................
