Katie is Taking the Scenic Route!

Saturday, June 14, 2014

Happy Saturday everyone! I hope you are enjoying your summer thus far. I know I have really enjoyed the warmer weather and I am trying to get outside as much as possible! Here in the Pacific Northwest we have to grab the sunshine while we can!

My layout today is using the Carte Bella Wildflower collection that is ON SALE right now in the Frosted Designs store. I have used just about every last scrap of this collection and I keep coming back to it! You can get the ENTIRE collection including 12 12x12 double sided papers and matching cardstock sticker sheet for only $11.24!!!! This is a steal, especially considering that the quality of this paper is super thick and it can take alot of ink! As you will see in my layout today.

I started with some light gold cardstock as my base and then started building my layers. I actually used some packaging from some Prima stuff to be the base layer. Over that I put several of the different patterned papers, distressed them first, then added the sentiment block which I also distressed and inked. After those were laid down I went over with my Lindy's Stamp gang starburst spray in Tiffanylou Blu using a mask, I used both sides and smudged with my finger to make sure I didn't waste any ink. I went over that a second time with the same mask in a few spots using the Dylusions Spray in white linen. My all time favorite!! It really makes the sparkle of the Lindys stand out because it's such a contrast.

I laid down my pictures, some fussy cut elements from more of the paper, wood veneers, and had fun embellishing.

It was alot of fun putting this together and I highly suggest buying this collection before it sells out! It's such a great deal and is perfect for those outdoor photos!! I hope you enjoyed my layout today! Stay tuned for more awesome inspiration from our team tomorrow!!!

Only two more days….

______________________________________________________________________________

Hello everyone!! I hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend & are looking forward to summer! I know I am!!! I'm here today to share a fun layout I did using lots of goodies you can find in the Frosted Designs store! If you know me at all, you know I like to mix and match collections, and that is what I did today!!
I used pieces from Basic Grey, Carte Bella, and Bo Bunny to come up with this  layout! Here are some pictures:

Here are a few close ups:

I used the creme brûlée dauber from my Lindy's stamp gang try me set to pearlize my background for the 'night sky' .

For the title & other elements on my page I used stickers from the Bo Bunny Zip-a- Dee-doodle combo sticker sheet. I also anchored some of the elements to my page with some Trendy Tape in black chevron & the steampunk gold one. I love how they look together!

I colored the Um Wow layered clouds with a combo of Faber Castel Gelatp in gold & some more creme brûlée. The tiny stars are wood veneer by Studio Calico, also colored with gelato & a wet brush. I love how it turned out against the pink!

I hope you have enjoyed this whimsical layout. Here is the list of products I used that can be found in the Frosted Designs store. Happy shopping!!

Captured!

Thursday, February 20, 2014

Hi blogland! I am here today to share a fun layout I did using the Carte Bella Wildflower Collection from the Frosted Designs store as well as some other fun embellishments! I am loving the new influences of metallic gold that everyone has been going mad over lately in scrapbooking, and for this layout I really wanted that to be a main color. This collection is perfect for mixing fun patterns and some pretty golds, corals, teals, whites, and natural tones.

This is what I have created :

And a few closeups:

I had some fun coloring the wood veneer cameras using something I wouldn't normally use, gelatos! In the past I have used distress markers, ink sprays and mists on them. This time I used 2 colors of gelatos from the 50's diner pack, then misted a little water over them to let the colors blend slightly. After that I dried them with my heat gun and I love how they turned out!!! It was the perfect pop of color for my page.

Thank you so much for stopping by today, you can get your hands on some really good deals right now in the Frosted Designs store, including the Wildflower Collection pack which is on sale right now! I always love to hear feedback & what everyone else is working on...share with us on the Frosted Designs facebook page!

Katie is Sharing some Sunshine!

Tuesday, January 21, 2014

Hi everyone! It's Katie here to share with you a layout I recently did using several different lines from the store. I was digging thru my stash and I happened to find the perfect background paper to tie everything together. I also played a bit with the Dylusions mists and even mixed a color of my own using Sandee's recipe of 6 parts white linen Dylusions spray to 1 part color, I came up with a super pastel brown color. Here are some photos:

After I played with my background, I distressed and inked all the edges of the MME Cut n'Paste papers, and the journal block from the Carta Bella Wildflower collection. I laid them down and then my photos, the started adding the fun stuff. I used several wood veneers from Studio Calico some of which I colored with gelatos. I also used a Maya Road resin flower, some of the Sugar Dots, and the chipboard stickers from the MME collection.

The best part about completing this layout is that I mostly used large scraps from previous projects and all I needed was a background paper to make it work. I also used some of the little 'strips' that are at the bottom of most manufacturers pages to add a repeat of some of the patterns on the page.
