A Framed Layout Using The Nature Of Beauty Kit With Debbie

Wednesday, April 23, 2014

Hi everyone, Debbie here with you today to share my project I made using the beautiful April kit, Beauty of Nature.  Brandi has shared a beautiful layout and altered tin, Sandee a decorated bird cage and Jean a layout and album cover. I've made a 8 x 10 layout of my grandparents that I framed.
I layered papers from the kit and added some stamping, inking and distressing.

I took apart some of the Prima Joyous Burlap flowers from the kit and painted them with the Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals Misson Bells Brown.  I also splatter some of the magical on my flowers and on my layout.

Here is have taken the Maya Road chipboard flourishes and painted them with the Lindy's Mission Bells Brown Magicals, and them stamped over them.  Love the Prima Crochet Icons in the kit.  Here I have used the Cherish Icon.

I distressed some edges of the papers.  Some I inked and some I brushed with the Lindy's Mission Bells Brown Magicals.

There are so many options you can use with this kit as our designers have highlighted this month.  We still have a few kits left to purchase.  You can find the details of the kit here and place your order.

Happy crafting!

Hi everyone, Debbie here with you today to share a layout I created using
the March kit,  "A Moment In Time."  I love the papers in this month's kit with
the rich colors of turquoise, black and pink.

I worked with a picture of my Mom when she was a little girl.  Love the innocence in the picture. I did a lot of fussy cutting and tearing and distressing!  I took some of the Tim Holtz Picked Raspberry paint from the kit and added it to a mister along with some water to do some subtle misting on my background.  I also used the paint to color some of the lace from the kit.  I also used the paint on the butterfly along with some Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals, Bachelor Button Blue from the Prairie Wildflower Magical set which you can find in the store here.

Here I've added a cluster of flowers which include the pink Prima Soporano flowers from the kit along with a blue Kaisercraft flower from the store which I dabbed with some of the African Jade Silks Acrylic glaze from the kit.

We still have a few kits left in the store.  You can check out all of the contents here as well as placing an order.

I hope I have inspired you to create.

My Sweet Honey by Debbie

Wednesday, February 12, 2014

Hi everyone, Debbie here with you today to share a layout I created using
the February Shades of Spring kit and Frosted Designs new monthly kit challenge  hosted by Brandi.

It's been a cold and snowy winter here in Maryland and I think just about everyone has the the winter blues.  Working with the beautiful papers and embellishments in the kit made my mind wander to what's ahead . . . warmer weather and the beautiful colors of the flowers that will be in my garden.

For Brandi's Recipe Challenge I used all five of her ingredients:
White Gel Pen (GREAT for faux stitching!)
At least ONE of the Distress Inks (Lemon and Raspberry included!)
At least ONE of the wood veneer pieces
The color PINK
At least ONE sticker (Full sheet included!)

A few close ups:
I used the Distress Inks from the kit to color a few of my flowers.  Once I dabbed the flowers with ink I spritzed some water on them to even out the color and then pained them randomly with some Faber Castell Gesso.

Here I've tucked some of the pink tulle ribbon from the kit beneath my layering and beneath the tulle ribbon you can see where I used the Tim Holtz    Faded Dots stencil.  I randomly inked some of the dots with the Raspberry Distress ink.

I used the white Signo gel pen in the kit to add a little dimension to the printed flowers on the paper and added the wooden birdcage which I painted with some gesso.  I stamped the wooden bird with some pretty pastel blue ink.

I covered the wooden cherish word with the Tim Holtz Juniper Paint and then stamped over it and once dried, I randomly added some white gesso.

Please join us for Brandi's Kit Challenge, you can find all the details here and if you are interested in purchasing the February Kit, Shades of Spring,
you can find it here in the Frosted Designs store.

The Story Of Today

Wednesday, January 29, 2014

Hi everyone, Debbie here with you today to share I layout I created using the January Love Is In The Air kit along with the Clean Fun option.

I love the colors in this months kit along with the kraft elements of the Maya Road tags and linen heart.   I love to cluster on my layouts and this months kit is packed with so many different bit and pieces.

I decided to change up the pink Petaloo flowers in the kit and used a Blood Orange Gelato to brighten them and tucked them beneath the white flowers.  You can find the Blood Orange Gelato in the store as part of the Faber Castell 50s Diner 4 pack.

I wanted to add some stamping to my layout and used the Blood Orange Gelato and colored over the stamp and then spritzed it with some water and stamped away.  Love the result:

I hope I have inspired you with my layout today.
We still have a few kits left in the store.  You can check out the kit contents and place an order here.
