Hi! I'm Barb and I am the owner here at Frosted Designs! I have been scrapbooking for nearly 25 years now! Wow! That is a long time! I think the coolest thing about this hobby is how I get to meet people from all over the world! I also like that I am telling my kid's stories so that they can share them with their kids some day. And with 4 kids… there are a lot of stories to tell!!

I live in sunny Greece with my husband and my little girls who are my inspiration...I have been scrapping for about three years and I love the dirty mess of my mixed media LOs...Sometimes,although, I need a break and try some CAS pages but mixed media has stolen my heart!

Hi Everyone!!!!I live in Brazil a beautiful country ,I am lawyer but my passion is cooking so I have a small job doing special food,I made diet food, fitness food , detox food and I also cooking only with organics aliments.I have been scrapping for 10 years, but I discoverd when I was foreign exchange student in USA in 1981my american mother doing so many wonderful job in scrap.I love to made all my flowers,,,I am crazy about that,

Hi there I live at the coast in North Wales, Uk, with my motorbike crazy husband and scruffy old hound. The children flew the nest several years ago, so I now have more free time to be creative. I love getting inky, mixed media, scrapbooking and on a clean note, feltmaking

Hello! I live in Seoul, Korea with my father, mother and an older brother. I am seeking a unique and vintage mixed media. To express the feeling, I have used many materials and made various attempts.
I am continuously seeking inspiration, making an effort to share it, teaching students every day and making works.

My name is Joni Parker and I live in Phoenix, Arizona with my husband of 22 years and our 11 year old son, Joseph (my "subject" matter for most layouts). I started scrapbooking about 13 years ago and I'm am really glad I was already "in the groove" when he was born. (I didn't miss any photos or stories!) I also make cards and some altered projects, but my true love is telling stories and capturing memories on paper and the big bonus is that I am allowed to do that while getting messy and creative....that's a win-win in my book!!

Hi! My name is Julie Tucker-Wolek and I have been scrapping since my son was born 17 years ago, but really got into it as a major passion about 8 years ago when my daughter was born. I create everything! Cards, layouts and altered projects!

Hi everyone! I live in sunny Texas with my hubby and two adorable Boston Terriers. My three children are grown and scattered to wind. I started scrapbooking over twelve years ago! My style is ever changing and evolving with a new love for mixed media.

Hi guys and gals! I'm a little town girl married to a big city boy. We live in West Texas and have four very active kids. I'm an Investment Advisor by day and a paper-cutting, ribbon-tying, dye-spraying, edge-distressing, paper-crafter by night. This hobby keeps the balance in our house and keeps mamma happy....and we all know what they say "if mamma aint happy...". I'm super excited about joining the Frosted Designs Design Team and look forward to getting started!

I have been scrapping for over 17 years. I love paper and can never have enough of it!! I aim to have my photos be the focus of each scrapbook page, and I love to share my stories on each page. I love to create 2 page layouts as well as canvases and gifts.

Hello! I live in Ontario, Canada. I'm am avid photographer where my favourite subjects are my two daughters. I've been a scrapbooker for about 12 years, a card maker for about 8 years and a project life junkie about 3 years! I'm fortunate enough to be able to be a paper crafter full time. My go to products are stamps, dies and stitching.

Hello! I am blessed to be a stay-at home, high-school homeschool scrapbooking momma/grandma from Texas. I have been scrapping for about 14 years now and enjoy creating a wide variety of projects. As a momma of five girls and a brand new grandaughter, I have plenty of girly inspiration to drive my passion. I am a proud Navy mom of two active duty sailors and one veteran. I love to read and hang out with my family in my free time.

I'm a Mixed Media Artist, Scrapbooker (paper and digital) and Soap Maker from Utah. I will try ANY and EVERY craft that tickles my fancy. I hope to retire soon and move back to the east coast of Florida. I look forward to spending more time with my kids, lots of time at the beach, and way more time CREATING.

Please take a minute to congratulate these ladies for joining our team!
And stop back tomorrow to see the BIG DESIGN TEAM REVEAL and challenge!

Frosted Designs Kit Team:

Hello there fellow scrappers!!! My name is Brandi Matos and I am just another obsessed crafter with a bad habit for paper crafting! I only started into this hobby about three years ago now but have found that this is my TRUE passion! I thoroughly enjoy crafting and put my all into each and every project!!!

I am currently a stay-at-home mother of two beautiful girls, and wife to the world's most amazing husband (Really… he is!!!). We live in sunny Tampa, Florida with most of our family close by. I spend much of my time doing paper crafts and wouldn't have it any other way! I love making scrapbook layouts and cards, as well as altered projects and mixed media work. As this is all still very new to me, I enjoy trying all kinds of techniques, both new and old. I don't really have a set 'style’… I just do what I think looks good :-)

Hi! Everyone. I live in Akwesasne where my husband and I are raising our Family. I am a Child Care Supervisor by day and Avid scrapper by night. I love everything about paper crafting. My go to items are masks, molding paste, flowers and lace.

Hi there! My Name is Rachelle and I live in Toledo, Ohio. I have 2 grown sons and 2 grandchildren. I spend my days wheelchair bound and working on creating many genres of art which all started in 2008. I love creating layouts, cards, mixed media, tags, and the most recent is coloring digi images with alcohol markers. All of it is the best therapy. My greatest strength is paying attention to details and taking the viewer on a visual journey of inspiration. Here I am on the kit team and I love working with the array of elements.I simply love to create, and inspire.

Mixed Media Team….

Hi I am Tamiko, I believe all things are possible with paper and good scissors. Add quality adhesive and things to write, draw and/or color with and BOOYAH... We are having ourselves nothing but pure JOY and EXCITEMENT! I do a little bit of everything (smile), although my concentration as of lately has been towards card making, mixed media and art journaling. I am also a social media junky.. if there is an app. out there.. I've heard of it.. possibly used it or have had an account for it.

Rummage and Ransack journal flip

Sunday, October 26, 2014

HOLD ON! TIME OUT! SORRY FOR THE INTERUPTION!!
Hello everyone! It's Barb here and I just had to stop in and do a little shout out to Miss Sandee!! As most of you know, she has been on a journey with one very large bear and she has some news to share!! Be sure to stop by her blog HERE to read all about it!!

Okay…. now back to your regularly scheduled program….   :)

Hi everyone, Sandee here today with the Rummage and Ransack kit from Frosted Designs. I love working in the Pocket Scavenger because I don't have to think very hard in coming up with an idea of what to make. I find it very relaxing to just thumb through the journal and find a scavenge or a alteration prompt that clicks with me and then off I go!

This week I combined 2 alterations:
1.Cut into pieces and rearrange
and
2.scribble on top.

I like to keep my alterations so handy, ↑ since I cut out the page, ( well, it did say cut it out...ok, I could have cut out a magazine image or something.... but I didn't! lol ) I also cut out the alteration directions from those pages and pasted them onto the bottom so they could be referenced for later ideas for future journal pages.

The feather came with the page so I grouped my paper cutouts around it and then used the Ident pen that comes with the kit to scribble in between the pieces.

I didn't make a video for today but I created a short journal flip so that you can see what I have been up to. There is some music so turn down your volume!
Feel free to pause and read the journaling too!
If you are on our Face Book page then you might have already seen everything but if you aren't, please join us.
We love to see what you are making!

Love is in the Air.....and I want it my way!

Thursday, January 2, 2014

♥♥♥ I'd say love is in the air, because I love, lve, LOVE this customizable kit! !♥♥♥
And when I can get it my way, then I am definitely loving it!

I used the main portion of the kit to create my BFF Coupon Book

Here is a short slideshow of all the BFF coupons and quotes I used ♥ After all, our best friends need to be shown some love too...even if the love is a bit snarky. :)

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
I also couldn't resist the sketch challenge to use  ink, paint and/or mists on your project! Now, my new found passion is mixing spray inks to get the exact color I need to match my papers, and the Love is in the Air kit has a salmon coloring to it....and nope...no salmon spray to be found in my stash! So what to do, but mix up some of my own!

I sprayed a piece of white paper with my new salmon spray and stamped the Steampunk Sparrow over it, and voila....a perfect match! Seriously, how cool is mixing up your own colors?

I hope you can play along with us on our sketch challenge!

Sundays with Sandee - Typography & Lettering!

Sunday, November 24, 2013

Before we get started I'd like to thank Marlene for asking the question:
"How do I keep my pages from leaking on to the previous or next page?"
Good question Marlene! I use a small paint brush to paint a thin coat of the Faber Castell Gesso into the crease between pages. So far it seems to keep them from leaking. I also use Glad Kitchen Wrap called press n seal to cover the remaining pages so I don't accidentally get something on them.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Well, I guess it's something we need to discuss....our handwriting. I hear so many people complain about the way their handwriting looks, and how much they hate it. So let's just get over that and pretend that we love our handwriting....as a matter of fact I want you to say out loud..."I LOVE my handwriting and I am not afraid to use it!"....there, feel better? Now how do you feel about typography, let's combine them.

handwriting:
the way a person's writing looks

typography:
the work of producing printed pages from written material
: the style, arrangement, or appearance of printed letters on a page

I took a page and just played. Yes, there are mistakes on it, but I learn what to do and what not to do by experimenting. Did you know that your hand writing says a lot about you? We'll explore a little about that too today, just for kicks and giggles. :)

This is what I consider to be the title of my page. Although it's filled with random quotes I emphasized the word "typography" in order to make it stand out. My favorite word in this group is the word "like", I used a mixture of cursive and print along with heavy and light strokes.
  • Did you know that skinny pointed lower case letters mean that you enjoy learning new things, you are inquisitive and ambitious(the higher and pointer the peaks, the more ambitious you are.)

Here, I wanted to stretch my words across the page. The word "sometimes" was created by first spacing the cursive letters across the page and then drawing lines to connect them. The word "exhausting" was created by elongating the letters and mixing upper and lower case together, plus I water colored in the negative spaces, something I love to do.
  • Did you know that wide spaces between your letters indicate that you enjoy your freedom and don't like to be overwhelmed or crowded.

On this sentence I stacked the words "was first" for some visual appeal and only colored in the lowercase letter "a".
Did you know that rounded letters mean that you are creative and artistic.

This quote is a combination of everything. You might call this the kitchen sink. It has cursive with print, large and small writing plus light and heavy strokes. I have stacked words and words that are stretched out.
  • Did you know that small letters mean that you are shy or withdrawn, studious, concentrated and meticulous.

This is always a fun technique, simply shaping the words to fill the space.
  • Did you know that if you have no slant at all to your writing then you don't let your emotions get the best of you. You tend to be logical and practical.

Similar to one above where the lines dictate where my letters are formed but I did a water color wash around the word "color" and highlighted with a white pen.
  • Did you know that wide loops mean you are relaxed and spontaneous, self expression comes easily to you.

The word "art" gives me a flashback to the 60's. I drew big fat letters, water colored them in and then doodled some lines. I used different size pen tips to give emphasis to different word groups.
  • Did you know that large letters mean you are outgoing, people-orientated, outspoken and love attention. This could also mean that put up a front and pretend to have a lot of confidence.

This shows different way to use color in the negative spaces.
  • Did you know that if the size of your writing is average then you tend to be well adjusted and adaptable.

So, I hope you enjoyed my lettering and typography and will give it a try. It's a good experiment in letting go and trying some new techniques. If you create a page then please post it over on the Frosted Design Face Book page, we love seeing what you make!
