Friday Challenge - Silver & Gold!

Friday, December 6, 2013

Hi! Brenda here to host the challenge today! Welcome to our first Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday challenge for December, 2013.  Only 19 more days til Christmas!

In keeping with this festive time of year, my challenge to you is to use both silver and gold on your project.  This could be ribbon, brads, glitter, or anything else you like.  I chose to do a Christmas card, but your project does not have to be holiday themed.

Products used from the Frosted Designs Store:
BoBunny Elf Magic Collection Kit
UmWow Chipboard: Star Confetti

I covered the chipboard stars with silver and gold Stickles, and also added silver, gold, green and blue dots of Stickles to the tree.  The card front is actually a shaped 6x6 piece cut from one of the BoBunny "Elf Magic" papers, then I traced it onto a folded piece of cardstock and cut a matching shape for the card base.  I used alphabet stickers from the collection pack for the greeting.

Here are some inspirational projects from some of our Design Team:

Friday Challenge - Tag! You're It!

Friday, October 25, 2013

Hello!!!  Lori Apgar here with a Brand New Challenge for you!!  My Challenge is Tag, You're It!  I want you to use at least one tag on your project - or create a decorative tag!

I am typically a layout girl, so I added a tag to my layout.  Not just any tag though, I used the Color Washed Cold Press Watercolor Tags.

I recently found these photos taken over 7 years ago!  My friend Elaine would take my son Tanner and strip him down and put him in her deep kitchen sink.  Tanner loved when mommy went to Elaine's house to craft!!!

I used some paper from Pinkpaislee's Hey Kid paper pad for my canvas and my photo and title mats.

I used my Dylusions Cherry Pie ink spray to color the tag.  I punched tiny holes in the tag and tied on some yellow twine from the October Scrapbook Kit.  I included some Pinkpaislee word stickers to my tag and made a border with them across my page.

I used my cameo for my title and offset shadow.  I inked everything with black ink.

I also ran some yellow twine at the top of the black cardstock border.

I added a ticket and pop-dotted a die-cut "Hey Boy" where my photos overlap.  Boy, Tanner really is interested in that water!!!

Products Used from the Frosted Designs Store:

Fabulous Friday Challenge - Lacing!

Friday, May 11, 2012

Happy Friday everyone! Thank you to all of you wonderful, crafty people who joined us last weekend of our Second Annual National Scrapbook Day Blog Crop! We had so much fun with our challenges and games! We hope you enjoyed it too! Before I get to today's challenge, I would love to send out a Happy Birthday wish.....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LORI!!

Lori has been a designer with us for quite a while now and we are so glad to have her here!! Have an amazing day Lori!!

It's time to get to this week's challenge... and a challenge it is!! We are giving you a Lacing Challenge this week! We would like to see you lace something on your card, layout, or off the page project! And when we say lace, we are not talking about the trim... we want to see you lace something up! Our design team shows you there are many ways to do this! Take a look.....

Jenifer
Jenifer used embroidery floss to add lacing detail on her layout.
Brenda used two colors of twine and laced it through the holes in this eyelet border strip.

Ashley used the lacing to draw attention to the letters in her title.

Lori laced the bottom of her baseball mitt.

Erin laced a border around her layout.

Michelle
Michelle laced the bird sewing card using black waxed linen lacing
(found in the leather isle at your local craft store).

The butterfly and flower pot sewing cards were laced using colored jute cording.
The boards are actually a recycled Sorry gameboard! Check out Michelle's blog for more details!

I am really excited to introduce this week's sponsor.....

Quick Quotes has so many amazing products! My personal favorites are their PowderPuff Chalking Inks and Patterned Papers! Here is a lacing layout I (Barb) created using the Quick Quotes One Fine Day Paper Line and PowderPuff Chalking Inks!

I used the Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalking Ink to color the larger flowers on this layout!
