Jean LOVES Capture the Moment!

Thursday, June 12, 2014

Hi! Jean here again with another kit layout! Have I told you how much I love this kit??

When I saw this Authentique Abroad Paper, a recent photo jumped to mind. My daughter just had her engagement photos taken, and one was in front of this cool map in the city. I cut down one of the ATC cards which had the words Let's Go Anywhere and added the Lace Word together for the perfect title. I added the Tattered Angel's Glimmer Glaze from last month's kit to the hearts to make them stand out. The chipboard swirl is from my stash. I painted it and used the Onyx Pearl to make dots.

Don't you just love the flowers in the kit!

I hope you bought this and are busy playing!!

Timeless Memories with Jean!

Monday, June 9, 2014

Welcome to today's blog post! Jean here.

I am sharing with you the first layout I completed with the Capture the Moment kit. This has to be one of the prettiest kits I have ever seen! As soon as I pulled it out, I knew at least one layout needed to use an old  black and white photo! This was my family circa 1963! Aren't we just too cute! For some reason, this is one of the few photos I have of the entire family.

I used the ATC cards across the top for a border. I added stenciling to the background paper using the Black Onyx Liquid Pearls. I love the Prima Lace Word stickers and added Family to my tag using some older Alphas from my stash. The black twine is from my stash too. The flowers, brad, and flair button were just the perfect embellishments for finishing this layout!

I hope you bought one of these kits for yourself and enjoy it as much as I do.

Jean Loves Simply Sweet!

Saturday, May 10, 2014

Have you entered for a chance to win one of our kits?
Go to our Facebook Page to see how you can win a kit for yourself and a friend!

Good Morning! Jean here. Each month when I receive my kit, I feel like it is Christmas. I ooh and ahh over each item and then the wheels start turning. I love it when an idea comes together quickly and for this layout it did! I think I used almost everything in the kit on this one layout!

When my daughter was in middle school, we spent a weekend in Toronto. My husband and daughter took in a showing of Phantom of the Opera. He and I had seen it and loved it and we knew Jennifer would as well. It is a memory she has treasured. Some where along long the line, he promised that they would see it again before she gets married. With Jennifer getting engaged in October and the wedding this September, they knew they needed to make time to see the show.  As luck would have it, she had a conference in Philadelphia and the show was in town. Her dad met her there and they once again saw Phantom. It was a magical evening for the two of them. Of course, they brought me the program! And, I saved the Etickets (not as much fun) and a layout of the theater.

The Heidi Swapp Dreamy Ticket to Ride was the perfect accent piece! I hate to throw anything away, so I used the packaging from the Prima Silk Flowers as the cover for my mini album. Inside that album is the journaling, a copy of the tickets and a seating chart. I used the Paper Pen and Stencil on the cover.I used the Chalk Pad and Glimmer Glaze on other embellies. I even inked the Word Stickers. It is so nice when you have everything you need to pull a layout together!!

Navy Sailor With Jean

Thursday, April 24, 2014

Hi! Jean here and today we are stepping outside the box! We are trying Vintage - distressed edges and all! When I saw this gorgeous paper from 7 Dots in the April kit,  I knew I had to get out the older photos! I have some of my dad as a navy sailor. This might have been just when he signed up. Unfortunately, I do not know if he enlisted or many of the details of his service. My sisters have that info and now I am determined to learn more of the story. Included in this month's kit is the die cut cardstock. To be honest, I never quite know what to do with the die cuts. I decided to group them as  a border on either sides of the photos. I used the Tim Holtz Distress marker around the edges. I made a flower cluster including a black flower, newsprint flowers and a wood veneer camera from my stash. I also added a touch of lace and ribbon.

This kit has everything you need to complete a project like this!

Double the Love with Jean!

Saturday, April 12, 2014

Good Morning! Jean here and I am so excited to share my first project with the Beauty of Nature April Kit! Have you gotten yours yet? No, what are you waiting for!

As I was going through the WONDERFUL 7 Dots paper I spotted this design and it screamed at me to scrap photos of my twin sister and I when we were such cute babies! These are original photos with the uneven edges and my mother's handwriting on them. I used some punches to make flowers and added the string and clothes pins from my stash.

I added some extra white paint splatters and drips. I used the Distress Markers on the edge of every tag to make them stand out. I also used it to write part of my title! The Magicals were put to good use on the chipboard swirls and the butterfly.  I had so much fun getting my hands dirty and playing with this kit!!

I want to thank you for stopping by! Be sure to check out the store for this great kit and all  your other scrapping and mixed media needs!

A Fast and Easy Layout using A Moment In Time!

Thursday, March 13, 2014

Hi! Jean here. Thank you for joining me on the blog today!

I don't know if any of you are like me, but it can take hours or even day sometimes to complete a layout. Today I wanted to challenge myself, and you, to speed that process up and make a layout that is fast and easy. All you need is a background paper, another strip for a border, flowers for embellishments and the diction stickers. So join me as I create a fast and easy layout!

And here is the completed layout. I did go back in and use my white pen to outline the stenciled area, draw a border around the layout and to highlight some of the words.

Thanks so much for joining me! I would love to see your fast and easy pages. You can upload them to the Frosted Designs Facebook page  and tag me (Jean Marmo).

Don't forget that all of these wonderful products are available in the Frosted Designs store!!

Diamonds are A Girls Best Friend!

Monday, March 10, 2014

It was so exciting when my daughter got engaged in October. Her boyfriend planned it for when she was home for her best friend's wedding. He even spoke to my husband the day before.  He had gone and had a ring made for her. He even used his engineering cad program!  She knew it was going to happen just not when.

When I saw the Diction Stickers I knew what direction I was going to take with this kit!

I used the African Jade Glaze to color the diamonds on the border paper, some of the flowers on the background, the butterfly and edge chipboard and  the background under the title. I added some black thread to the layout.

Using Distress Inks with Jean!

Thursday, February 13, 2014

Included in this kit are two of the most beautiful Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Picked Raspberry and Squeezed Lemonade! I don't know about you but I don't have many Distress Ink pads and I never really knew what to do with them. If that is the case for you, then I have a video to help start your creativity. This will show you just some of the things you can do with these!

And here is my finished layout

Everything I used was from the kit!

Thanks for joining me and I hope I have showed you some techniques which you will use with these Inks!

Don't forget that we have the Kit Challenge  with Brandi still going on! This challenge is exclusively for kit members! This time it is a recipe challenge and Brandi asks that you create a project using at least three of the following:

White Gel Pen (GREAT for faux stitching!)
At least ONE of the Distress Inks (Lemon and Raspberry included!)
At least ONE of the wood veneer pieces
The color PINK
At least ONE sticker (Full sheet included!)

The challenge is sponsored by My Creative Classroom and the winner will receive a free seat to a workshop class of their choice! How exciting would that be! You have until 12 pm CST to link up your project here.

I look forward to seeing your wonderful projects!!

Sold

Monday, February 10, 2014

Spring may not be here in Michigan but it is always warm and sunny in Phoenix where my daughter recently bought a house! She went out there 6 years ago to get her PhD and has now made the city her home.

The February kit was perfect for scrapping the new house photos!

I used the Tim Holtz stencil to add some texture to my house. The beautiful flowers were inked with the Tim Holtz Distress Ink and the Adirondack Paint Dabber. This is a quick and easy way to match your flowers to your layout!  I also added flowers which I fussy cut. This white pen is the best for doodling or in this case for stitching! I used the Adironack Paint Dabber to color the alphas from my stash.

The clouds are not from the kit but are available in the store.

I hope you stop over at the store to check out this amazing kit!

Still Working with "Love is in the Air"!

Tuesday, February 4, 2014

I just love this Foil Dotted paper that was in the kit and it was the perfect background for my layout! Gold is so trendy right now!

Emma has numerous sketches in her Pagedrafts Love is Everywhere release and I chose this one to use for my layout.

I had to go with the Love is Everywhere theme because my daughter was engaged in October and my son has been dating his girlfriend for over a year now!

Looking at these four does make me happy!
