What the What?!

Monday, August 4, 2014

Happy Monday everyone (is there such a thing?!).  It's Brenshevia here with another layout created with some of the fabulous items you can find right here in our store.  Last year I finally had all my kids and grandkids home at one time so you know I had to take advantage of it!  This is the first of I am sure many layouts featuring those wonderful faces.

We took holiday photos as a family and even though The Paislee Switchboard Collection is not a holiday collection per se, it was perfect for these photos don't you think? I also used some vellum that's literally been hanging around my scrap area for YEARS so I decided to take it out and put it to use to create a small pocket as my mat. I then splattered my page with ink (that's the fun part) and here is what I ended up with.  I like it well enough.....lol.

Well that's all for now folks,  thanks for stopping by.  Make sure you stop by our store to pick up your collection of Switchboard.

Until next time, Smooches!

Friday Challenge: Flowers and Stitching!

Friday, July 18, 2014

Hi everyone, it's Anita here and today it is my turn to host the challenge! I thought and thought about what to make the challenge, we have so many talented ladies on The Frosted Designs Team that we have some great challenges- I wanted to make sure I was hitting the mark!

I finally decided on two of my very favorite things to create with:

STITCHING and FLOWERS
Just add flowers to your project, and some stitching (machine, hand, or faux) to be entered to win a fabulous prize from our sponsor!  A $30.00 prize package from...

Scrapmatts is an Australian based company providing quality laser cut chipboard pieces for all your projects!!!

How easy is that? Something everyone can join in on.

For my project I used the fabulous Prima flowers from the Capture The Moments kit, and I added faux stitching around the edges of my layout. I use faux stitching quite a bit when I need to add a touch of detail to my project, but am too lazy to move over to the sewing machine! I don't even stress over making ever "stitch" the same length, I just grab my black journaling pen and go for it.

Friday Challenge - Handwriting + Inks!

Friday, April 11, 2014

Hello Everyone!!!  Lori here and my last two posts have been all about Handwriting on your projects.  It should come as no surprise that part of my Challenge today includes Handwriting!!

I challenge you to use HANDWRITING (either journaling, title or key words)
PLUS INKS on your project.

You can make a layout, card, home decor, mixed media or whatever - as long as you have something handwritten on it and use some ink.

And since this is a "Handwriting" Challenge, what better than to have a prize for writing?!?  Sakura of America

is generously offering one lucky person a brand new pack of Gelly Roll Metallics!!!!  These pens are truly AMAZING!!!!

For my project today, I wrote out my title using some of Sandee's handwriting techniques.  I have never handwritten a title before so this was pretty scary for me!!  I am a die cutter and like my titles perfect - but I challenged myself!!  I cut some hearts on my cameo and scattered them on my paper.  I used Bubblegum Pink Dylusions ink to create my background, color my burlap and color my Studio Calico wood hearts.  I also used my Juniper dauber to ink the Kaiser Craft wood flags.  The picture is my daycare baby Mackenzie hanging onto my finger as I am holding her.

Frosted Designs Supplies Used:
Paper is Basic Grey
Studio Calico wood hearts
Kaiser Craft wood flags
Bubblegum Pink Dylusions
Juniper Acrylic Paint Dauber
