*FROSTED DESIGNS WILL BE DOWN FOR A LITTLE WHILE ON SATURDAY WHILE WE MAKE SOME EXCITING NEW CHANGES! THANK YOU FOR BEING PATIENT WITH US!

Earth Day is coming up in April and we want to get a jump start on the celebration! So... this week, we are challenging you to Recycle or Upcycle something!

Before we share with you what are Design Team has created to inspire you we wanted to let you know that the Frosted Designs blog will be down for a short period tomorrow morning.  Debbie has been busy designing a new look for our blog, along with new blinkies for all of our challenges.
.    We're excited about our new look and can't wait to share it with all of  you tomorrow.

Now let's see what our designers have created!

Liva used packaging from the Tim Holtz Hitch Fastners as submarine portholes. First she measured plastic spheres and then drew a submarine around them.

Brenda B.

Brenda recycled an old photo frame that didn't have the glass in it, and used a lot of patterned paper scraps to make the "crazy quilt" background pieces.

Lori recycled/upcycled on this project by using the packaging from the printer tray for embellishments on her project.  All of the lettering, the bird, the key hole, the heart, and the clock stand are made from the cardboard packaging from the printer's tray.  She used the cardboard along with a few sizzix diecuts to make some awesome embellishments.

Lori painted a wine bottle, rescued a lamp shade from the Goodwill and added hooks from her old curtains.  On the top of the cork, she made a flower out of old jeans.  She used a scrap piece of vinyl to add "create" to her own version of the "Clip It"!

The clock on the left side of the birdcage is Jenifer's recycled item for this week's challenge. She cut it out of packaging from some Prima flowers!
For Ashley's Recycle/Upcycle elements, she used a piece of cardboard that she saved from a package when some of her new scrapbook items were shipped.  She pulled off the top layer to reveal the corrugated look underneath.  She also used the backside of a tag from the Dry Cleaners as the "housing" for her title.

Sarah die cut the butterflies out of the packaging from a Sizzix die, then coloured them with alcohol inks.
Michelle used the padded envelope she received in the mail to make her art journal.

Erin used the recycled part of a USPS box (cardboard) her scrappy goodies came in.

BE SURE TO VISIT EACH DESIGN TEAM MEMBER'S BLOG FOR MORE DETAILS ON THEIR PROJECTS. JUST CLICK ON THE NAME ABOVE THEIR PROJECT TO SEE MORE!

We would love to see what kind of Recycled/Upcycled projects you can come up with! Here is what you can win this week....

Welcome to Karla's Kreative Korner as this week's sponsor!

Photobucket

Arts & crafts has been my guilty pleasure since the first time I picked up a crayon. With time, my love of crafts ventured into drawing, altering items, painting, stamping & finally scrapbooking. Kay's Kreative Korner was opened in 2009. It began simply as a way of sharing a few of my handmade items. I opened my shop with a couple of handstamped cards and a few pre made scrapbook pages. Within a year, I stopped making cards and decided to sell embellishments--specifically butterflies. I've always admired the butterfly  and what it symbolizes. Change, transformation, a new start, beginnings...with this concept I started making scrapbook embellishments based on existing butterflies from all around the world. Today I carry a couple of unique scrapbook embellishments. In addition to the butterflies I specialize in vines & beaded flowers. I make each item with much TLC and careful precison. My greatest reward is seeing how others use my embellishments on thier own projects  and pages...

You could win all of these gorgeous embellishments this week!

You know the rules... you have to play to win! Be sure to link up your project AND tell us what you used that was recycled/upcycled for a chance to win this week's prize!
