Are you up for a color challenge?

Thursday, June 24, 2010

Hello and welcome back to Frosted Designs! I'm Kim and I'll be your hostess this week! I am an avid scrapbooker, actually I call myself an addict! I have been scrapbooking for 1o years now. My obsession all began with the birth of my youngest niece, Ashlea. I live in beautiful Kentucky with my honeybee, Ben. We've been married for 13 years and together, we have 6 nieces and nephews who range in age from 5-21! So, I have plenty of inspiration for my pages.

In addition to designing for Frosted Designs, I am a proud co-design team leader at Practical Scrappers, a Lucky Girl dt member, one of the sistah's at The Sisterhood, design for Creations by Penny, and founder and Maven at Sketches in Thyme. I love to create layouts that my family will cherish long after I'm gone. In my real life, I am a third grade teacher who is enjoying this summer break! You can find out more about me by visiting my blog HERE!!

This week's challenge is a color challenge. We want to see you put orange, yellow, turquoise, and green together. These colors are just perfect for summertime photos!!! Don't you agree?

For my layout, I chose to use this yummy Fancy Pants dp. It already had the orange, yellow, green and turquoise in it! I knew I wanted to use these photos of my little kids from two summers ago, climbing trees for this one.

Would you like to win this prize?!!

All you have to do is participate in a challenge sometime during the month of June and become a follower to be entered to win!! The more projects you link, the more chances you have to win!! *Projects must be posted and linked on or after June 4th and before noon EST on July 1st to be eligible to win.

Now check out what the rest of the design team did for you this week!!

Pat used all Bo-Bunny papers to create this beautiful summer layout!!!

Cassie used a variety of patterned papers to create the background for her lovely pictures!!!

Jessica used a large flower with smaller flowers as a fun summer accent on her layout!!

Diana found a variety of patterned papers that used the color combination in this weeks challenge. Putting them all together made a fabulous background to showcase her photo!!

We just can't help sharing with you what Joni said when she found out about this challenge.... "My first thought was.... Who came up with these colors? Then as I was staring at my WeRMemory Keepers paper, I kinda went "duh"... these match perfectly (and no one said they had to be the ONLY colors we use)!!"

The paper line is called 72 & Sunny and honestly, that'd be cold for Joni!!  It's 102 in Phoenix everyday now & it was 92 the day she took that picture during the.first week of June.

To quote Joni again.... "Thanks to whoever's idea these colors were for reminding me to keep my mind open and thanks to WeRMemory Keepers for having those colors on their papers.  Now, I'd almost call this cheating, since I didn't really put the colors together myself.   So I added the brads as the butterfly path so I felt better about that...and since I like butterfly's to have "flight paths" ...lol!!"

Now... we would love to see what all you can do with this challenge!!! Remember... this is the last week to submit a project for the June Prize Package! On Thursday evening we will announce the winner!!!
