Capture the Moment

Wednesday, June 18, 2014

Hi everyone, I'm using the newest kit, Capture the Moment on a canvas today, and what fun I had using everything!
I used the paper to edge my canvas and ripped a strip to use as the "table cloth" for my stacked coffee cups. Using a little bit of the Ranger's Liquid Pearls to add some embellishment to the corners of the canvas is an excellent way to finish off a piece.

I took the flowers and glued them onto the ends of delicate branches letting them float across the bottom of the painting. You need an extra strong glue like Helmar's 450 in order to be able to achieve this effect properly.

The kit comes with some delightful script printed ribbon which I tied onto my branch. ( TIP: I use a light bulb to straighten out my ribbon by "ironing" it. I do this by lightly rubbing the ribbon back and forth against the heated bulb. )

And you just have to adore the decorative brads, I used every one of them to create the handles for my coffee cups. They are all so pretty!

I hope my mixed media canvas inspires you to think outside the box :)
