VersaMark Magic

Tuesday, March 18, 2014

Hi everyone!
My tutorial today is going to be about using your Lindy's Stamp Gang Magical powders along with VersaMark ink. Not all of the Magicals will work with this technique. The white powders that change into colors when wet will not show up as well ( there isn't enough moisture in the VersaMark ink to turn them ) as do the powders that already show their colors in their pots. With this technique you get a much softer pastel effect.

Start by stamping your image uisng the VersaMark ink pad.
Don't see anything? Well, that's because VersaMark inks are a clear translucent ink, which produces a stamped image slightly darker than the paper color creating a watermark effect. So look closely and you can just see the stamped image.

Then dip your dry brush into the powder and spread it over the image. I like to mix the colors together. On the card I used Ponderosa Pines Olive, Creme Brulee Cream and Dark Chocolate Brown.

Then brush off the excess onto a scrap piece of paper:

Ink the edges of your card with the VersaMark ink and then brush the excess powder onto the edges for a unique shimmering distressed look. Since your powder colors are mixed up, don't put them back into a pot. This paper edging is a good way to use up your extra powder without any of it going to waste.

I truly love how the VersaMark ink and the Lindy's Stamp Gang Magical powders work together and how well the colors blend together. I hope you give this a try, it's a lot of fun to do.
