Carol

Hi, Carol today here sharing about crafting with scraps. I'm sure as a scrapbooker, crafter, beader, artist, we are also hoarder of scraps. With every projects done, there are bound to be some papers, twines, ribbons, beads etc left over. So instead of throwing them away, I'm going to share on how to use them in your projects.

There are many ways to use scraps. You can use them as background for mixed media work, as template for punch out negatives and so on. For this video tutorial, I'm just going to share about making embellishments with the scraps, namely papers, ribbons, twines, seed beads and hole puncher scraps.

Here's the video:

In case you missed out any step in the video, here's the written steps.

1) Using circle puncher or other shapes like flowers, punch out the paper scraps.
2) Put multi-medium or gel medium in the centre of punched shapes
3) "Throw" in hole puncher scraps or beads. Heat dry
4) Put stickles or any glitter glue onto the scraps in the centre. Heat dry
5) Outline the punched shapes by drawing dashes along the edge.
6) After completing the embellishments, you can decorate your card or any other projects with them.

Option: You can also twine scrap twines around the centre or simply "throw" them in to create a "messy" look.

For my cards, I also use paper scraps and ribbon scraps to decorate the card before I glued down the DIY embellishments.

That's all for today's tutorial. Have fun in creating embellishments out of your scraps.
