Show Me Sunday : Marina

Sunday, October 30, 2011

Hi everyone! I'm Marina and I'm here to share a tutorial using a really thin paper called crepe paper to make flower embellishment for your card or layout.

Things you need (as shown in picture) :
*Crepe Paper
*Your favourite misting colours (I'm using Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist)
*Your choice of adhesive (not in picture)
*Bone folder (optional)
*Wires
*Buttons / Brads (optional)

Step 1 :
Cut the crepe paper to your desired size. I'm using 9 inch x 4 inch. And fold the paper every 0.5 inch.

Step 2 :
After folding the paper, fold the folded paper into half to make a center point (as shown on right). Next, take your wire (a small one will do) and wrap it around the center point to secure the paper (as shown on the left)

Step 3 :
Open up the folds into a fan-like shape and adhere both ends together.

Step 4 :
Here comes the fun part! It's misting time! You can use spray paint but for that you Mwould like double layer of paper as crepe paper is really thin. In this picture, I used 3 glimmer mist colours.

Step 5 :
Add your favourite button (or even brad) to over the wire. And you're done!

Here's a card I made using my crepe flower. You can even make smaller ones to go along with your bigger flower.
