I got into scrapbooking when I was just 17 years old. My sister had just given birth to my nephew and she took me with her to a scrapbooking store. I have always been a pretty crafty person and everything in the store looked fun so I went ahead and bought some stuff and the rest has been history. To see more of my work be sure to check out my blog. Also make sure you check out the blogs of the rest of the design team. We have some serious talent here that provide great inspiration.
This week for our challenge I decided to feature the song's of our lives. If you are anything like me then music is a big and important part of every day. So this week I want to you use a song lyric somewhere on your project. It can be from any song in any genre. Just make sure you have fun thinking about it and let us know who the artist is so maybe we can get to know some great new music.
If you play along this week or any week in the month of July you have a shot at winning our awesome July prize pack. Each time you enter a challenge this month you get entered to win. So get crafting, put those thinking caps on and let's see what great song lyrics you can come up with for your projects this week.
For my layout this week I used Sarah Mclachlan's song "Loving You is Easy". The lyrics I used are "loving you is easy, loving you is wonderous, shout it from the rooftops".
HERE IS WHAT OUR DT CREATED THIS WEEK
So, we know the song lyrics are really Hey Hey we're the Monkees....but this is a good example of "interpreting the challenge" and it's still obvious what song was used even though Joni changed the title a little to fit her layout. (or at least we hope it's obvious.....everyone knows who the Monkees are right?) OMG..am I showing my age?? lol!!
Pat used the lyrics from Rascal Flats My Wish. She thinks it fits perfectly for her wish for her grand daughters. Pat love's using music on her pages. She used B0-Bunny papers, Pink Paislee alphas , SU punches & Primas.
For her layout, Jessica was inspired by Abba's song, Slipping Through My Fingers - which is also featured in her favorite go-to scrapping movie, Mamma Mia! The song always makes her a little teary-eyed, knowing that her kiddos are growing up way too fast.
School bag in hand, she leaves home in the early morning
Waving goodbye with an absent-minded smile
I watch her go with a surge of hat well-known sadness
And I have to sit down for a while
The feeling that I'm losing her forever
And without really entering her world
I'm glad whenever I can share her laughter
That funny little girl
Slipping through my fingers all the time
I try to capture every minute...
Waving goodbye with an absent-minded smile
I watch her go with a surge of hat well-known sadness
And I have to sit down for a while
The feeling that I'm losing her forever
And without really entering her world
I'm glad whenever I can share her laughter
That funny little girl
Slipping through my fingers all the time
I try to capture every minute...
She took a little liberty with the line, capture every minute - only because she didn't have the right letters in her stash. ;)
For this layout, Kim was inspired by her favorite Lifehouse song, Everything. Her husband always sings this song to her, so naturally, this is her favorite song.
Puppy Love. Diana capture the innocents of her son's first love in these photos. As a teen Diana was in love with Donny Osmond and this was one of her favorite songs. Seeing her young Son, so in love with Jessica brought back a lot of memories of her own. Young Love what a wonderful feeling.
Now that you have seen what our design team has done with the song lyrics, we would love to see what you can do!! This is your last week to try for this amazing prize!! We will announce the winner on Thursday!
