Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Blog Hop!!

Wednesday, July 3, 2013

Are you ready to have some fun?!! Good! Because that is the theme of this blog hop....

Girls just wanna have fun!

The best part about this.... pretty much anything that has to do with girls having fun qualifies for this one! We just want you to have fun!!!

Here are some ideas.....Mums, daughters, girlfriends, sisters, mother in laws, could be any photo you've had with any other lady in your life, a photo you have with mum on your wedding day, or you and your daughter on a holiday, even a party with the girlfriends, the list goes on. If it's a card or OTP project, it just has to be girly, the more girly the better.

We have 2 fabulous sponsors for our Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Blog Hop....

The first sponsor is Artsy Albums!!!

My name is Traci and I have been creating scrapbooks since I was in high school. I have also been married to my high-school sweetheart for 24 years and we have two wonderful boys -- one in college and one in high school.

After a 17 year career in the pharmaceutical industry that just didn't tap into my creative side enough, I retired and went to work in the scrapbook industry. I have enjoyed designing albums, store samples, classes, and kits so much that I recently decided to take a leap of faith and open my own company.

Artsy Albums is a product of a deeply rooted passion. After losing my mom to breast cancer when I was a teenager, I learned the importance of our memories, the pictures we take, and the stories that may never get told if we do not document them. I truly love to create beautiful albums that focus on the photos and the stories behind them. I also enjoy creating mini album kits that are fun to put together, easy, and affordable. If you love to scrapbook, try an Artsy Albums kit to create your next project!

I always welcome the opportunity to help you turn your photos into a keepsake that will be shared for generations.  www.facebook.com/artsyalbums

Designer Spotlight Featuring Amanda!

Tuesday, February 26, 2013

Today, I am thrilled to introduce Amanda to you! Amanda is so much more than a designer here at Frosted Designs! She is also our Sponsorship Coordinator and manages both our Facebook and Pinterest Boards! She is amazing and we would be lost without her!

5 Fun Facts about Amanda...

1. I can not sleep properly when my bedrooms untidy, (my husband often lifts his head to me doing a bit of a tidy before bed)

2. I love social media, and will talk forever, in fact if my friends have not heard from me at least once a day, I’m sick or injured.

3. I love nothing more then my family, my friends and to craft. My family are the last people I see at night and the first I people I see in the morning, they are the roof over my head, the giggles running around the house, the memories made at Christmas, the reason why I can call myself a proud mum, they are my world, without them I would have nothing to scrap, simple as that!!!

4. I hate cricket, love football, one is slow, one is fast, and I get bored easily.
5. Every craft that I have done I taught myself from books or just kept trying until I got it right, and I can say that I have done so many different crafts that I have lost count now.

More About Amanda....

I live in the land down under (Australia) I grew up in Tasmania, a little island off Australia, and now live in Western Australia, with 3 children and my very own fireman that is my husband. I now have 3 children going to school with my baby starting kindy this year, so loads more time to scrap

Living in Australia I have learnt a couple of things, NOT everyone loves vegemite (this is a spread that we put on our toast every morning) and is in 99% of Australian homes. And Koalas and Kangaroos are so beautiful but we don't generally go out and pluck a koala out of a tree and give it a cuddle and they would scratch us to pieces. I've also seen 2 massive kangaroos in the wild (big reds they are called) having a fight, they were at least 7 foot tall.

I can never keep on top of having a clean/pretty scrap room, but love creating fun bright layouts for the kids and will move slowly into more shabby chic for the girls and grunge for my son as they get older.

I lost my mum at a young age, and never had the chance to ask about this or that, so I'm finding it very important to keep everything and scrap it, and I mean everything :)

Show Me Sunday - A Tutorial By Amanda!

Sunday, August 12, 2012

Hi everyone!!!

Today I am going to do a short tutorial on using Moulds. I have used air dry clay, but you can use wax or resin. But I do have to tell you they can be very addictive.

The moulds that I have used here are from Moulds By Mel
and another favorite place is Mold Muse

Here are the supplies that you will need
Mould, air dry clay, brayer roller, scissors, rub 'n' buff (paint, glimmermist, ink, copic marker, anything with color can be used)

Start with a nice clean mould, any old dry clay will get stuck in the next one that you do.
Moulds and brayer can be cleaned with warm soapy water

get a small amount of clay and roll into a ball and sit it on top of the mould. Then push the clay into the mould with your thumbs

With your brayer roll the clay flat, this is so at the end the back will be nice and flat and not be all lumpy

Once you have done that then carefully pull the mould out and turn the right way up and cut around the edges...You must now leave it to dry for 24 hours and a warm place, I put mine on a window seal

Once dry sand around the edges with a file, and paint or rub 'n' buff, really anything that you can color with, just have a play..There are so many moulds out there and what you do with them is up to you, I add them to layouts, off the page, fridge magets, gifts and the list goes on

I love to paint the roses and then put heaps of glossy accents all over them,
they turn out so pretty

Here are a couple that I have...
Now we would LOVE to see what you create!
If you create a card, layout, or off the page project inspired by this tutorial, and you would like to share with us, we would love for you to post it on our Facebook page!!
In fact, share ANY of your projects you created using our tutorials as inspiration on our Facebook page!! We love to see all the amazing projects you create!

Fabulous Friday Challenge - Make your own Embellishment!

Friday, June 22, 2012

We are back with another challenge and this one is truly one EVERYONE can play along with! If you are like most of the crafters out there, you spend a lot of money on your crafting supplies. Well, today, we are challenging you to use up the supplies you already have and make your own embellishments!! This is your chance to get creative!! Look at what our Design Team created to inspire you....

Teresa Jaye made the hearts and leaves with modeling paste, paint, and stencils

This is a canvas covered with a Dress Pattern Tissue Paper. Joni also created the flowers out of the same tissue paper.

Amanda
Amanda used the end of a Prima insert, colored it dark blue
and used it on the side of the page.

This is a 20X20 canvas. Anita created  the birds with paper and the flowers with canvas
cut with a Sizzix die and misted with inks.

Handmade embellishments: Clay angel, flowers and vines corner sticker.

Sarah made the little camera with a stamp, shrink plastic and some copics. The big camera was made with acetate, the same stamp and copics and patterned paper :)

Monique made the banner out of patterned papers from the range she was using - so it blends nicely with the whole layout.

This week we have the very well known Oh My Crafts sponsoring this challenge, and everyone knows what great specials they have over there
