.Simply Sweet

And did you know that for this month, if you subscribe to the Frosted Design kits you can get this for FREE? For all the 'new to mixed media journalers' out there, this could be a fabulous way to get your feet wet....and fingers inky....:)
Trust me, I'm there to help you every step of the way!!
To quote Jackie Gleason..."how sweet it is!"

So what did I do with this month's kit? I covered a book that I keep out on the balcony, and I just needed a few pens to help me, along with some papers and embellishments from the kit!

First I chose my paper, and the Heidi Swapp Choose Happy stood out, probably because of the Will Pharrell song "Happy". Then I took the Crafters Workshop Stencil - Live Love Laugh and laid it out so that the end of the flower stems could be tied into the "y" of the word "Happy". I used my pencil to trace the stencil where I wanted it to be.

Next, I used my Signo White pen to color in the stems, you can see how rough it looks when you start out, but by outlining it with the Sakura Black Glaze pen you can no longer tell what's part of the original paper and what I added to it!!
Cool, huh?

Outlining the letters ties everything in together while shading makes letters really stand out on the page. You can see the difference between the words "Happy" and "choose". It's the little details that can make all the difference.

I also used the Ident- pen to outline the world "always", since it's plastic, you need a special pen to write on it that won't smear. It worked like a charm! Next, I wanted to add some words of my own, but I wanted them to blend in with the lettering from the Heidi Swapp Dreamy Word Stickers so I copied how the letters were formed, wrote the words "when you" in white, outlined and shaded them..I think they fit in pretty well with the other lettering :)

I could go on and on with all the fun tricks to use because this kit is chock full of fun things to play with!
I can't wait to see how you use the products!!
