Believe

Hello ladies, it's Jeaunes here with a layout that I made using the Simply Sweet kit.

My mom is a teacher and years ago when I was about three, the students from the Home Economics class needed to make dresses for little girls.  Well I was one of those, they made me this lovely pink, white and blue dress and in the end we even had a mini fashion show.  There were two pictures taken at the event, the picture in this layout is one of them.  I have always been a very shy little girl and love to keep to myself, especially in a big crowd.  As you can see in this photo, I was waiting patiently for my turn :-)

When I saw the Dreamy collection from Heidi Swapp in the Simply Sweet kit, I just knew it was the perfect match in terms of colour for this picture.  I used both sides of the Life is Beautiful paper as well as the back of the Ticket to Ride and Dreamy Dots papers for the small flags.  The hearts and title I got from the Dreamy word stickers.  To finish the layout off I added hand stitching at the top, as well as some brads, buttons and bling I had in my stash.  I also included some stamping at the bottom of the photo.

Here are some close-up photos of the detail.

The stamping under the photo is the dictionary definition of believe:  "to have confidence in the truth, the existence or the reliability of something, although without absolute proof that one is right in doing so."

Grab yourself a May kit if you haven't already...and if you have, you'll know how much fun it is to use these gorgeous papers from Heidi Swapps!!

.Simply Sweet

This month I have had so much fun playing with my Simply Sweet May Kit that I have done a few more extra projects and still have some of the kit left, they really are amazing with so much included!

For my first project I did a canvas, using the The Crafters Workshop Stencil - Live Love Laugh included with the Messy Kit and Molding Paste to make my designs, and turning the stencil over and reversing the flower for a different look. I added the butterfly in several places as well, I love how you can use part of a mask or redesign your own look by using the mask in different ways.  I also added some molding paste texture using the Tim Holtz Dot Fade stencil included in the February Kit. I took my Autumn Leaves Starburst Spray Set, and sprayed the Tibetan Poppy Teal and Cattail Copper brown on my canvas as a base adding color and bringing out the texture of the molding paste. To highlight the gorgeous flowers and butterflies on my canvas I used my Paradise Pink Glimmer Glaze included in the kit. The butterflies also got a little dot trail following behind them from my Viva Decor Cream Paper Pen.  I added in some inspirational sayings from the Cosmo Cricket Just Because Tiny Text Stickers to my canvas and then finished off my canvas with a bit of stamping using the 7 Dots Cold Country Clear Stamps script stamp and some dark brown inking of the edges using my Prima Knotted Wood Chalk Ink.

For my next project I did a set of three cards using a mix of the Heidi Swapp Dreamy Papers and Melissa Frances The Sweet Life paper, a collection of pastel yumminess!! I used tons of embellishments from the kits to finish them off!

For this first card I used the Melissa Frances papers, layering it up and edging the paper with the Cream Paper Pen. I added stitching to another layer then loads of kit embellishments: Prima Princess Flower, Maya Road Vintage Find Bird and fun buttons from the Dress It Up Embellishments package - Au Jardin Whisper. I added a little sentiment from the Cosmo Cricket Just Because Tiny Text Stickers.

Another fun pastel card using the Melissa France Papers! I stitched around all the paper layer edges, added Prima Princess Flowers, Prima Gillian White Flowers, Heidi Swapp Dreamy Clear Watercolor Words and the Dress It Up Embellishments buttons. I added a bit of twine from my stash.

My final card with lots of zig zag stitching on the layers, Dress It Up Embellishments buttons, Prima Gillian White flowers, Maya Road Crochet Trim and Cosmo Cricket Just Because Tiny Text Stickers.

I really had a lot of fun putting together these cards and the canvas with the May Simply Sweet Kit. There aren't very many left, so I hope that you will run not walk over to the Frosted Designs Store to pick one up for yourself!!

Only two more days….

______________________________________________________________________________

Hello everyone!! I hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend & are looking forward to summer! I know I am!!! I'm here today to share a fun layout I did using lots of goodies you can find in the Frosted Designs store! If you know me at all, you know I like to mix and match collections, and that is what I did today!!
I used pieces from Basic Grey, Carte Bella, and Bo Bunny to come up with this  layout! Here are some pictures:

Here are a few close ups:

I used the creme brûlée dauber from my Lindy's stamp gang try me set to pearlize my background for the 'night sky' .

For the title & other elements on my page I used stickers from the Bo Bunny Zip-a- Dee-doodle combo sticker sheet. I also anchored some of the elements to my page with some Trendy Tape in black chevron & the steampunk gold one. I love how they look together!

I colored the Um Wow layered clouds with a combo of Faber Castel Gelatp in gold & some more creme brûlée. The tiny stars are wood veneer by Studio Calico, also colored with gelato & a wet brush. I love how it turned out against the pink!

I hope you have enjoyed this whimsical layout. Here is the list of products I used that can be found in the Frosted Designs store. Happy shopping!!

Some Inspiration From Joni

Monday, May 26, 2014

I've really been enjoying playing with our monthly kits!!!  It's Joni today and I'm going to share a few layouts that I did with the May Simply Sweet kit.

Now the first thing I'll tell you about this kit is that I have a more "boyish" style and so I find it challenging to use pastel or flowery products when I scrap.   So, at first glance, I'd probably have normally passed on this kit, but when I got a look at how much stuff was loaded in this kit....well, I just figured I'd give it a shot!!! -- and I'm sooooo glad I did...I found it really easy to work with, even though I initially thought it "wasn't my style".   Here we go....

I really loved that kit has elements that are kraft colored... I LOVE KRAFT!!!

In this first layout, I was inspired by the "together" tag .  I used the "always" script word, the wooden arrow, flowers, buttons, word stickers ... all from the kit.  Also, the white dots were made with the Viva Paper Pen (it's like liquid paint).  And...Oh my, that Prima Chalk Ink pad to distress my edges...LOVE how it fits in my hand and the coverage is perfect!!!    I did add twine from my stash and used quite a bit to add movement to the layout.

Here is closeups of my clusters:

On this second layout, I went for the "yellow"!!
I outlined the "Choose Happy" with my Gelly Roll Glaze Pen to help make it stand out.

I used the Glimmer Glaze to paint the top border which I cut from one of the papers.
I used 2 tags, a few small pieces of papers, wood arrow, word stickers, the chalk ink on the edges and the paper/paint pen to make a few dots.  Twine from my stash.

Finally, here is a layout that I did using a combination of both the April Beauty of Nature kit and the May Simply Sweet kit.

I started with the Marion Smith paper called Up, Up and Away.
I used the Harlequin (diamond) stencil from April's kit on the background with the Prima Chalk Ink pad.
I also used the stencil from the May kit with a mix of molding paste & paint to add the Live, Love, Laugh quote.  I had a few issues with my paste being too thick, so I went over this area with the Chalk ink pad too.
It's a little darker than I had planned, but I can "Live, Love and Laugh" with it!!

I used embellishments from both month's kits...they really seemed to match PERFECTLY!!
I won't list every embellishment, but the only extra thing I added was a little twine...
everything else is in the kits!!

I hope you have as much fun playing with your kits as I am!!
