Sundays with Sandee - Lettering / Tracking

Sunday, March 2, 2014

I am doing something different today... :)
On the first Sunday of the month I would like to start a new segment to focus on: lettering skills
The following diagrams are what I printed out, to keep as a handy reference for future classes, so feel free to either download them and keep them in your lettering and typography file or print them out for a visual reference.

In my video I am focusing on letter-spacing, usually called tracking by typographers. It refers to a consistent degree of increasing or sometimes decreasing the space between letters. ( Negative values tighten; positive values loosen

Here is my page using the tracking method, and now I'll be able to refer back to it as a reference when I need an inspiration for using my own handwriting! And we are going to reference this next Sunday when we journal so you have all week to practice! Remember to have fun!

As always, we love to see what you do, whether it's making a card, creating a lay out or in this case, maybe addressing an envelope! Whatever you do, please share it with us over on the Frosted Designs Face Book page, we'd love to see you there!

A Moment in Time
and shut the front door....LOOK!
Not only do we have special pricing for kit subscribers, but this month only, anyone who signs up for a NEW kit subscription will receive a FREE SIDEKICKS Set of Inks from Lindy's Stamp Gang!
