Island Cuties!

Monday, March 31, 2014

Happy Monday! I want to share a project with you that you have already seen! (That doesn't happen too often!) This layout was included in the Friday Challenge Reveal but it has so many great details, I thought I would share it again, this time with close up shots!

I just couldn't help myself… I had to create another layout using the Shades of Spring Kit! Here are my Island Cuties…

I know at first glance, this kit has a lot of flowers but I have to say… there is so much more! The watercolor looking papers are so pretty… love the diamond patterns… I could go on and on! But instead, I want to show you how I created this page….

I started with this sheet of Patterned Paper. I fussy cut the flowers from the backside and then outlined them with the Black Gelly Roll Pen. I then layered the flowers under and over the photos!

My transparency is the "Life is Good" square that I tucked behind some of the flowers. In this kit, there was a white Signo Pen…. LOVE this pen! It actually shows up! I used the pen to create the white dots on the black letters!

And here is one more shot of the flowers. The pink gems are from the Family Blessings Kit (That kit is nearly sold out at a bargain price of $17.50!)

Here is another look at the Shades of Spring Kit! We only have a few left! You can find it in the Frosted Designs Store HERE!

Here are a couple of the other layouts I made using this same kit!

Don't you love it when you can create completely different looks with the same kit?! What are you waiting for?! Get your Shades of Spring Kit before they are gone!

Project Life with Channa!

Saturday, March 29, 2014

Hello Everybody,

It's Channa here, to share with you my Project life!
I just started this year with Project life and i am still in the exploring mode.

Here are my pages for week 3, 4 & 5:

As you can see i used the Photo Freedom pack 2, from Echo park.
Amazing bright colors with different designs. The kit comes with six 12 x12 double sided papers, 1 12 x 12 element stickers and 5 designer photo sleeves.

As mentioned before i am still exploring project life, at the moment i have one week on 2 pages. But i have already realized when it is just a regular week it is hard to make a 2 page spread. I think i will just go along with the amount of pictures that i have for the week.

What i love about project life is the clean look, as much as i love my flowers and all kind of embellishments on layouts and other projects. To be honest i thought that it would be really quick and easy to have PL book  but i still take my time with it, how to place the pictures?, which pictures to put? what paper to use?

I think it's an excellent and pretty way to document life!!
Thank you for passing by and have a great day,

Friday Challenge - Clearly Transparent!

Friday, March 28, 2014

Hi, everyone!  Brenda here, with the Friday challenge for Frosted Designs.  I hope you'll join in the fun!

The challenge is to use something sheer or clear on your project.  Think vellum, transparencies, clear photo overlays, acrylic embellishments/alphas, and any other clear or sheer items you can think of.

For my page, I used one of the Project Life photo overlays over the photo of my granddaughter.  I printed the photo at 4" x 4" because I wanted to place it and the overlay on top of the orange paper for a little contrast.  Adhering transparent/clear items can be a little tricky sometimes.  To adhere the photo overlay, I squeezed a little bit of Tombow Aqua liquid glue onto some scrap paper, dipped a toothpick into the glue and applied tiny bits to the underside of the overlay, along the lines of the white letters.  This keeps any adhesive from showing through on the right side. I wrapped bakers twine around the left edge of the overlay as a little accent.

Supplies used from the Frosted Designs store:
Lawn Fawn "Hello Sunshine" collection kit
Project Life Photo Overlays #3
Elle's Studio "Everyday Moments" stamp set

Those clear acrylic flowers that have been in my stash forever.  I punched some small circles from patterned paper and adhered those under the flowers, and then added some enamel dots on top of the flowers.  The papers and metal flair are from one of my favorite paper collections ever, "Hello Sunshine" from Lawn Fawn.

Treasured Layout by Cathi!

Hi! Cathi back again today with another layout using the gorgeous March Kit from Frosted Designs: A Moment in Time. This time I focused on the gorgeous Ruby Rock It Mother Nature papers in the kit, fussy cutting some flowers and butterflies.

I used the gorgeous Kaisercraft "Treasured" rub ons and the Authentique Elegant Type Petit Type Stickers
I added some background stamping with the Prima stamps.

I painted two of the Fabscraps corner embellishment chipboards using the African Jade Silks glaze, adding them to the edge of my paper layer. I added stitching around the border of my layout and on my layers, adding some of the lace included in the kit for my finishing touch.

It is amazing how many different looks you can get with one kit! My first layout was quite intensely color, but I focused on a softer look for this one. There are only a few kits left, so time to get yours before it is gone!!! There is even a special offer this month of a FREE Lindy's Stamp Gang Sidekicks set
