Exciting changes are happening here at Frosted Designs! We recently switched to a bi-weekly challenge format to allow all of you a little more time to enter our challenge and have a chance to be entered to win our amazing prizes! Now, we are thrilled to not only introduce our new Design Team, but also our new format! We have a team of 25 Designers from all over the world who will be providing inspiration to you for each challenge. We want to help you enjoy this inspiration so we will provide 4 straight days of it!! Today, we are sharing our first 6 designers. Be sure to stop by Saturday, Sunday and Monday for more inspiration!

A little about our sponsor this week

I have been paper crafting for over 13 years now and really feel that it is an invaluable service to my family and generations to come. I love the creative outlet it provides me and seeing the pages come to life gives me great satisfaction. You may ask “Why the name The Paper Trail?” Well, for me, scrapbooking is all about leaving a paper trail of you for your family and future generations to come. Webster’s dictionary defines paper trail as: documents from which a person's actions may be traced. Doesn’t that just sum up exactly what we do when we create a scrapbook page? We leave a trail of us – what we have done, who we are, etc.

I have created this store so that you have options available to help you create the best trail that you can.

Now to win this in store voucher, simple link up your project for this challenge, and remember to have fun!!!

Designer Spotlight Featuring Amanda!

Tuesday, February 26, 2013

Today, I am thrilled to introduce Amanda to you! Amanda is so much more than a designer here at Frosted Designs! She is also our Sponsorship Coordinator and manages both our Facebook and Pinterest Boards! She is amazing and we would be lost without her!

5 Fun Facts about Amanda...

1. I can not sleep properly when my bedrooms untidy, (my husband often lifts his head to me doing a bit of a tidy before bed)

2. I love social media, and will talk forever, in fact if my friends have not heard from me at least once a day, I’m sick or injured.

3. I love nothing more then my family, my friends and to craft. My family are the last people I see at night and the first I people I see in the morning, they are the roof over my head, the giggles running around the house, the memories made at Christmas, the reason why I can call myself a proud mum, they are my world, without them I would have nothing to scrap, simple as that!!!

4. I hate cricket, love football, one is slow, one is fast, and I get bored easily.
5. Every craft that I have done I taught myself from books or just kept trying until I got it right, and I can say that I have done so many different crafts that I have lost count now.

More About Amanda....

I live in the land down under (Australia) I grew up in Tasmania, a little island off Australia, and now live in Western Australia, with 3 children and my very own fireman that is my husband. I now have 3 children going to school with my baby starting kindy this year, so loads more time to scrap

Living in Australia I have learnt a couple of things, NOT everyone loves vegemite (this is a spread that we put on our toast every morning) and is in 99% of Australian homes. And Koalas and Kangaroos are so beautiful but we don't generally go out and pluck a koala out of a tree and give it a cuddle and they would scratch us to pieces. I've also seen 2 massive kangaroos in the wild (big reds they are called) having a fight, they were at least 7 foot tall.

I can never keep on top of having a clean/pretty scrap room, but love creating fun bright layouts for the kids and will move slowly into more shabby chic for the girls and grunge for my son as they get older.

I lost my mum at a young age, and never had the chance to ask about this or that, so I'm finding it very important to keep everything and scrap it, and I mean everything :)

Show Me Sunday - A Tutorial by Joni!

Sunday, February 24, 2013

These are 3-D flower inchies on a card  (these are 2x2 inches so they are really called twinchies) and I'm going to walk you through making this 3 dimensional element without using pop-dots.

You can use any background you’d like for the 2x2 squares, but here is what I did:

Optional background steps:

I started with 3 squares 2x2 inches of Kraft paper

Using a mix of Gesso & paint, brushed on and used texture tool to make pattern

 Punch flowers from pink cardstock

Fold flowers in half

Put the 2 “folds” together

Wrap twine around the folds to hold the 2 flowers together
I opened the folded flowers back up so I really had 2 flowers back to back...
(you will be wrapping the “inner” folds of both flowers)
See several photos below

Add a spot of glue to hold it

This is what they will look like

Adhere to your background squares

I added purple punched butterflies (also folded to add dimension)

 Add glitter glue to embellish

Add squares to card and add sentiment and other finishing touches

Here is the finished card again and a couple closeups of the 3-D squares...

Show Me Sunday - A Tutorial by Sarah!

Sunday, February 17, 2013

Hi Sarah here with a quick and easy tutorial to show you how to make a stacked mat for your photo and use up lots of those little bits and pieces that are too cute to throw but too small to be really useful!

first gather together lots of small bits of patterned paper, tags, border strips etc that look good together. The size and shape doesnt really matter - anything goes!

Assemble your collection into a pile of an appropriate size to mat your photo with lots of different patterns, shapes and textures peeping out between layers. Ink and distress the edges of the papers if desired.

When you are happy with your pile staple it all together - use as many staples as you need because they will be hidden under your photo and won't show on your finished page.

Top your pile with your photo. Add more stickers, rub-ons, tags etc to complete the look you desire.
Adhere to your LO and voila - and effective mat that looks as though you spent ages preparing it :)))

Hope you are inspired to give this a go.
Have a great day

:)))Sarah G
