Show Me Sunday by Carol!

Sunday, July 8, 2012

Hi, everyone. Welcome to Frosted Designs Sunday Tutorial. Today I will be sharing about DIY washi tape. Lately it seems like washi tape had caused quite a crazy sensation especially in the country where I live. So I thought to DIY my own washi tapes. And here's the supplies you need:

List of supplies:
1) clear adhesive tapes of different sizes
2) papers
3) a bowl of water
4) kitchen towel
5) wax paper

Step 1: Adhere the clear adhesive tapes unto the papers.

Step 2: Cut out the tapes from the papers.

Step 3: "Throw" them into a bowl of water. Let the water soak through the papers.

Step 4: Rub off the papers until the tapes become transparent.

Step 5: Let dry on kitchen towel.

Step 6 : After the tapes are dried, store them by sticking them onto wax paper for future use. If the tapes are not sticky anymore, apply a thin layer of tacky glue.

This is just one method of making washi tape. You can also adhere paper or fabric onto double-sided tape and cut out to use. Similarly, store them by adhering them onto wax paper.

I hope you are inspired to make your own washi tapes. Have a fun week.
