Now... here is something I am soooooo excited about!! We are going to be adding a SKETCH CHALLENGE!! Yes, you heard me correctly!! Our very own designers Diana and Debbie have been busy creating some new and fresh sketches that you will only find here on Frosted Designs!! Look for the first SKETCH ALONG TUESDAY post in this upcoming week!! These sketches will be biweekly and will have their own prize... all you have to do is participate!!

We hope you are as excited about the new changes as we are!! Finally, it is time to announce this week's challenge....
We are challenging you to use our theme... Holiday Treats!  This can be anything that has to do with a Holiday Treat! You can share your favorite recipe, you can show us your favorite food/treat gifts, there is also gift wrap.... or you can even do a LO about your favorite holiday treat!! The possibilities are endless... which our design team has demonstrated this week!

Before we show you what the design team did, we would love to show you this weeks prize! We are being sponsored by Purple Panda Designs! Here is some information straight from the owner!

Hi!  I'm Kayla and I'm 16 years old.  I have been drawing since I was little.  All the stamps you see are hand drawn by me.  I draw for fun and sell my stamps for a little money while I am still in school.   I just started my store at http://www.shophandmade.com/.  All of my stamps can be seen on my blog at http://purplepandad.blogspot.com/ which has a link directly to the store.  I hope you enjoy my stamps!

The randomly chosen winner will receive their choice of 3 stamps from Kayla's store!! Go check them out!! You are going to want to win this prize!!!

We spent this past week introducing you to our new team... now it is time to show you their work!

Joni

Joni made this cute little jar using an old pickle jar...just wrapped pattterned paper around to cover the parts of the label she couldn't get removed.  A package of stickers and a ribbon....  now, what to fill it with??  The possiblities are endless...

Diana made these treat boxes for her DD Kindergarten class. She is putting a cupcake in each of them and adhering with a clue dot to the bottom of the cupcake wrapper so that the cupcake stay put. She used MS pp pad and K & Company Halloween die cuts.

Cassie used a Purple Panda digital stamp to create treat cups, cupcake flags and dish I.D. tags for her upcoming Halloween party.

Gulnara wanted to do a layout about her child enjoying the holiday treats! This is the story, named "What happens when time for Holiday Treats comes")))
Libeeti made this lo about her family tradition to give the kids nuts on Passover, after the the formal feast, so they can play with them. In the photo, young Libeeti is holding the bag with the nuts. Libeeti said that they were thrilled to get those nuts and play with them all night, while the grown-ups set and had their talks, till bed time. The title is a line from a Passover's
song, and it says: My pockets are filled with nuts

Side view of the pretty glass jar.
Kim used the Purple Panda rip image to create a creepy tag for her husband's Halloween treat jar. She filled a jar full of Hershey Nuggets with almonds, one of his faves. She colored up the rip image and and attached to some creepy dp.
This is the top view of her candy jar. She used a felt embellishment and some Halloween trim to finish off the treat.

Jessica altered a clean, recycled glass gravy jar into a perfect little gift giving container. She wrapped two layers of coordinating scalloped cardstock around the base of the jar, then topped with a strip of Bo Bunny Olivia paper. To hide the seam in the Bo Bunny paper, she cut out similar flowers from the scraps and popped them up using foam pop dots. She wound a length of 1-1/2" wide satin for the bow, tucking it under the large flower for a seamless transition.

For the lid, Jessica traced the top of the lid onto the reverse side of the same Olivia paper (which can be seen on the reverse of the jar band when the jar is opened). She wrapped the side of the lid in satin ribbon that she pleated using dots of hot glue to hold down the pleats. Everything on this jar was adhered using hot glue.

Since this jar can't be washed, it will be filled with wrapped candy and small gift items for her kiddo's teachers. That way, they can reuse this container for treats of their own when they've gone through the goodies it will come with!

Esther

Esther got out her Cricut machine to create this adorable layout! She used the Winter Frolic cart for the title and Create a Critter for the penguin!!
Barb

Barb whipped together some yummy Halloween treats to send to her daughters at college! She wrapped their favorite candy bars with cute patterned paper and added some fun embellies. She also made a card as well as a "matchbook" to hold their gift cards!

Pat made this adorable Advent Calendar! Would you like to know how she did it? You might just want to check back Sunday!!

And now... we are going to leave you with a card that the lovely
Angela made using a Purple Panda Designs digi!!
Isn't it beautiful? You could win this digi for yourself! All you have to do is play along!!

WOW!! That is a lot of inspiration!! Now we would love to see what you can do!! Share your holiday treats with us!!

Meet some more of our team!!

Tuesday, October 26, 2010

We are back again today to showcase two more of our newest members of our design team!!

Please welcome Crystal....

Hello. My name is Crystal and I am a stay at home mom to one very active almost three year old. I have been married to my very supportive and kind husband for almost six years. We are both prior Army officers. I am an Iraqi War vet, which is the reason that I started scrapping again, but I became addicted when we were expecting our first daughter. The rest as they say is history. I have designed for several blogs and one company thus far. I hope to continue this craft for as long as I am able since I love to document memories, and play with pretty things!

You can find Crystal's blog by clicking HERE!!

And now we would like to introduce you to Lori....

I am married to a great guy who supports my habit because our youngest loves "reading" his scrapbooks. We have three dirty, stinky boys ages 20, 15 and 5. I started scrapbooking when the oldest was 7, and once I got both boys caught up I really slowed down. Then I discovered I was pregnant with our little surprise blessing, and I started scrapping like crazy! The tools and styles have changed so much (thank goodness)!! I use my Gypsy and Cricut for most of my crafting. I love to scrapbook, make altered art, make books and even make a card every now and then. I make a lot of sports-related projects as well as home made gifts. I work from home ~ I have an in-home daycare and sometimes get to craft at naptime. I also teach classes at a local craft store in my spare time.

You can find Lori's blog by clicking HERE!!

How lucky are we to have all these wonderful designers on our team?! Go check out Crystal and Lori's blogs and leave them a little blog love!! Tomorrow you will meet the final two members of our design team!!

Meet Two More of our Amazing New Design Team Members!!

Monday, October 25, 2010

Are you ready to meet two more members of our team?! You are going to love these gals!!

First we have Libeeti....

I'm a single mom of two adorable charming boys, aged 8.5y and 5.5y. Naturally, my boys are the main subject of my scrapping, but I'm trying to balance it with some layouts about me too. I work at a full time job, and I love my job very much. I started scrapbooking at March 2010, with a lot of encouragement from a very good bloggy friend, and I've become an addicted one eversince. Scrapbooking and crafting is my way to keep some sanity and to relax, as well as a way to capture the moments of our lives and preserve the memories.

You can find Libeeti's blog by clicking HERE!!

And many of you may know our next designer - Fern....

Hi there!  I'm a wife of 33 years, a mother of 2 grown/married children and grandmother of 3 beautiful grand children.  Who, if you know me at all, are the main subjects on most of my layouts.  I have been paper crafting for five years and scrap booking in earnest for about 1 to 1 1/2 years...  Next April I will get to scrap full time because my dear sweet husband is letting me retire/quit after 31 years working in the Title Insurance Business.  I am so excited to be a part of this amazing  Frosted Design Team...  We're going to have so much fun the next 6 months.   I can't wait to get started and we hope to see you there!!

You can find Fern's blog by clicking HERE!!

Now I am sure both of these women would love for you to stop by their blogs and congratulate them on joining our design team!! We will be back tomorrow with two more designers!!!

Let's See Your Die Cuts!!

Thursday, October 21, 2010

Hi everyone, it's Debbie here and it's my week to host the challenge.  This week's challenge is die cuts!  My  intention was to utilize my cricut and do a layout, then a came across a bunch of Halloween die cuts by K and Company I purchased last year.  With Halloween only a few weeks away, I thought why not make a Halloween decoration.
I've been holding onto this Creative Memories frame I won a few years ago at a crop.  I added some black paper as the background and went to town with die cuts, stickers and chipboard!
So lets get creative!  Let me see what you can create using die cuts, whether premade or created with your Cricut, Sizzix, Slice or any other cutting system you may have.

This is your last week to submit a project to be eligible to win our October Prize Package!
Wouldn't you like to take this home?! All you have to do is submit a project and your name will be put in the drawing!! The winner will be announced Thursday afternoon!!

And now.... let's see what the design team did for you!

Joni doesn't have a die-cut machine, but has collected some die-cuts over the years and dug into her stash for the Grandpa title & Caution sign which are both die cuts. Rest of paper/embellies are Basic Grey Lime Rickey.

Barb used a die cut paper from K & Company for her background. She also added a die cut frame around her photo that she cut using her Cricut and finished the layout off with some premade flower and leaf die cuts she purchased.

Diana used Restoration Collection by Crate Paper. for this LO of her DD, DSister and DH making her Birthday Cake. She used a photo of the Cake for her Title.

For her project Cassie created a Halloween sign using her Cuttlebug to make die cut letters and the circles used to make the flowers.  She also used Graphic 45 paper on the sign.

Now it is your turn!! Let's see what you can do with die cuts!! Be sure to link up your project for a chance to win the fabulous Stampin Up prize donated by our very own Pat!!  Visit her blog to see how  you can order some of these yummy goodies for yourself!!

Sunday's Tutorial By Pat.

Sunday, October 17, 2010

This week, Pat made these amazing fall tealight candles! We thought that they were so fabulous, we wanted to share how to make them with you!!

We have the directions written out for you and in a video as well!!!!

To make the bottom of the box: 3 3/4 x 8 1/4 piece of cardstock, the longest score lines are at 1/2", 1-1/8", 2-5/8", & 3 - 1/4"    Your short score lines are at 1/2". 1-1/8", 7-1/8", & 7-3/4"

To make the box cover: 5x6" piece of cardstock
Score lines on the 6" side will be 5/8", 2-1/4", 2-7/8" & 4-1/2"

Decorate top as desired.

Punch out 4 circles from the tissue paper with 1-3/8" punch. Punch a little hole in the center of the tissue paper for the wick to come through. Stamp each tissue circle with your image, heat with heat gun & melt the tissue paper into the wax.

Pat found this tutorial on tinkerin-in-ink blog. The video was long so she split it up into 2.

We hope you enjoyed learning how to make these darling candles. If you decide to make them yourself, leave a comment with a link to your blog... we would love to stop by and see your project!!
